Before now, adults constitute the majority of street hawkers in states in Nigeria. However, the use of teenagers as street hawkers has now become common in Nigerian societies. Teenage hawkers, boys and girls, are found hawking wares and food items on virtually every street, market and on the highways in the country. In markets and metropolitan centres of major States such as Lagos, Anambra, Oyo, Osun, Delta, Kano, Rivers and Kaduna the use of teenagers as street hawkers has been reported as prevalent. This study attempts to examine the prevalence of street hawking and the exploitation of teenagers as street hawkers in Ilorin metropolis, Kwara State. The paper identifies and argues that the practice of using teenagers as street hawkers has become a social problem. Guided by social disorganization theory, the study employed a qualitative design. A total of twelve (12) respondents were purposively selected in four (4) different areas for an in-depth interview (IDI). Results revealed the prevalence of street hawking and exploitation of teenagers, especially teenage girls who are the most exploited by their poor parents and/or guardians. The study further established the Nigerian government as the most culpable for the prevalence of street hawking by teenagers in the country. To address the problem, the study recommends that the government should become more accountable and that the practice of using teenagers as hawkers should be prohibited and defaulters be punished.

Tunisia has a marked history of gross human rights violations. To investigate and proffer solutions to these violations, the country's Transitional Justice Law, which gave birth to the momentous Truth and Dignity Commission (IVD), was passed in. The Commission was an exceptional transitional justice inaugurated to investigate and expose the truth about gross human rights violations committed from 1955 to 2013. With a focus on the victims of torture, this research examines the extent of the implementation of the TARR model of transitional justice by the Commission. Results revealed that the Commission has succeeded to a considerable extent in revealing the truth about the violations victims of torture have endured. The study, therefore, recommends the demonstration of a stronger political will by the upcoming government for ultimate success.

Several factors have been empirically established as motivations of youth to a lifestyle of delinquency. Scholars have connected some specific misbehaviors with the home, neighborhood, schools among others and by exploration, these agencies and their agents constitute the bystanders and enablers of deviant behaviors. Against this background, this research attempts to determine their culpability regarding juvenile delinquency. Relying on three theories, the research adopted a qualitative approach to explore the role of bystanders and enablers in juvenile delinquency. Results revealed that majority of the bystanders and enablers are equally as guilty as the juvenile delinquents because they also contribute to the rise in juvenile delinquency either overtly or tacitly, consciously or unconsciously, directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly. Therefore, the study recommends provision of equal opportunities, social infrastructures, adequate parental guidance, strict supervision and monitoring of children, among others.

The waves of ritual killing in the country have swum across the shores of humanity. It is believed that several socioeconomic factors drive people to commit ritual killings. Reasons (such as power, defence, solving household problems and longevity) submitted in literatures seem not to be enough to explain the recent and sudden increase in the activities of ritual killers in Ilorin metropolitan. The reasons explained in most literatures are not empirically established. Therefore, this research explores the socioeconomic and political factors that motivate people to engage in ritual killings in Ilorin. The research is guided by Agnew's General Strain Theory. Qualitative method (in-depth interview) is used to generate information from twelve (12) respondents purposively selected from Taiwo-Oke, Challenge, Old Government Reserved Areas (OGRA) and Tanke-Oke-odo. Findings reveal fear of poverty by the wealthy class, underemployment, unemployment, political power and position and the economic lifestyles of youths as major factors to ritual killings. Thus, the research establishes a cultural reorientation of people to belief in the power of science and technology as well as skills acquisition as basics for development and sustainability. Youths should be trained in science-based skills that will enable them get full employment and/or profitable engagement.
