This dataset presents a collection of electroencephalographic (EEG) data recorded from 40 subject... more This dataset presents a collection of electroencephalographic (EEG) data recorded from 40 subjects (female: 14, male: 26, mean age: 21.5 years). The experiment was primarily conducted to monitor the short-term stress elicited in an individual while performing various tasks such as: Stroop color-word test (SCWT), solving arithmetic questions, identification of symmetric mirror images, and a state of relaxation. The individual tasks were carried out for 25 seconds and three trials were recorded for each of the individual tasks. The subjects were presented with the various stimuli on a monitor placed 70 cm away from the subjects. The subjects were further asked to give their ratings on a scale of 1-10 depending on the level of stress elicited while performing the various mental tasks [scales.xls]. The EEG was recorded with a 32-channel Emotiv Epoc Flex gel kit. The EEG data corresponding to the various tasks were segmented into non-overlapping epochs of 25 seconds. The EEG data were further processed to remove the baseline drifts by subtracting the average trend obtained using the Savitzky-Golay filter. The artifacts were also removed from the EEG data by applying wavelet thresholding. <br>

A detailed experimental research has been done throughout the project to syllabify Assamese words by using existing Phonetic Alphabet structures for Assamese Language and later comparing the results and there after extracting Assamese sentences from a mixed corpus of Assamese and English words. Speech is then recorded for the sentences and various features are extracted from the acoustic and text data in Assamese.

In order to overcome such an inability of autism and aphasia we have proposed an Android based aided Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) mobile application that acts as a fixed display speech generating device for the people with speech impairments. Moreover our proposed application will also help those challenging people to communicate both in Assamese and English based on their linguistic preferences.

A timed transition automaton is used to depict the behavior of different states over time when there is a heavy rainfall keeping in mind, the rate of cleansing velocity along with it.

To make the system reliable, ensuring correctness of cold scheduling is important. In this paper, a method for verification of cold scheduler is presented. Our method first extracts finite state machines with data paths (FSMDs) from the input and the output of a cold scheduler and then applies an FSMD-based equivalence checking method to ensure the correctness of the cold scheduler. We have implemented our method and tested on some examples. The results show the effectiveness of our method.

This paper presents possible application of image processing for automatic segmentation of striat... more This paper presents possible application of image processing for automatic segmentation of striations and application of machine learning technique for pattern recognition and interpretation of those bullet striations. For identifying the bullet striations an automated technique is proposed. Experimentation was performed on four real test bullets of 5.56 mm calibre fired from two different firearms and two real bullets of 9 mm calibre fired from the same firearm. Experimental results show that it is possible to detect striations from microscopic images of bullets using image processing techniques. Shape features of these striations are computed whose patterns are analysed. Using K-nearest neighbour machine learning technique, we were able to classify firearms correctly with an average accuracy rate of around 84.67%.

In this paper, we are presenting a new method for context-sensitive spell checking for Assamese language, a technique to tackle the issue of real-word error detection and correction. The emphasis is concentrated on n-gram language model for Assamese language to develop the spelling checker. The purpose is to detect spelling mistake according to the context of the sentence and suggest the most probable word out of a confusion set generated for each of the misspelled words in the sentence. The system was tested for spell checking and word suggestion on the basis of precision and recall of correct and incorrect words. An overall performance of 76% was attained. It can be inferred that the system has the potentiality for further research and other software development for Assamese language.
