(The Merriam-Webster Dictionary,2016), says a theory is a way to explain some observed phenomenon. Expressed as abstract thoughts or general subject principals, theories help make sense of the world and research findings. Theories provide the theoretical framework to view the process of learning and the progress of the learners. Although theories to help in the understanding of learning, no single theory explains everything about a subject. This then gives rise to the main concern of this assignment, which aims to critically look at two theories of learning: constructive learning and experiential learning

The Zimbabwe republic came into fruition in 1980 after gaining independence from the British colonial hegemony. The connection between the State’s post-independence educational reform policies and industrialisation clearly describe the country’s vital developmental path. The metamorphism of Zimbabwe’s education system dating back to independence has been marked by a plethora of reforms targeted at the citizenry with the sole aim to equip them with necessary tools, skills and knowledge required for economic emancipation and progression. Evidence from empirical studies in the public domain clearly suggests that education has a positive symbiotic relationship with industrial development, however in the same breath it would be folly to conclude that any form of education is capable of producing the required positive, objectives and outcomes.
