Carita Pantun, which is one of the oldest literatures in West Java, has now been integrated into ... more Carita Pantun, which is one of the oldest literatures in West Java, has now been integrated into Sundanese Local Content learning in secondary schools. However, the existence of this oral tradition is very rare, both in entertainment and ritual events. The inheritance of carita pantun that are not so enthusiastic is the most serious problem. As a result, this tradition gradually disappeared following the juru pantun (rhyme interpreter) to its grave. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and observation. Based on the findings, 1) the carita rhyme performance by Mang Ayi has been modified according to the respondent's request, 2) The structure of the carita pantun includes: rajah, ending the story or narrative, description, dialogue, monologue, sisindiran or entertainment, prayer and closing, and 3) inheritance through the carita pantun documentary can represent a real carita pantun show that make students more interested and can easily find out the meaning and function of the show. The values in the rhyme are found in accordance with students' understanding, which include ritual media, entertainment facilities, educational facilities, contain social values, and reflect the religious community.

By taking randomly 176 samples from a student population of 314, data were collected through 3 types of tests and were analyzed by a regression test. The results show that the ability to think creatively has an effect on improving the students' poetry writing skills by 72.9% while the ability to use metaphoric language has an effect of 7.30% on their poetry writing skills. The implications that these effects provide cognitive and practical benefits are also discussed. Keywords: Creative Thinking, Metaphoric Language, Poetry Writing Skills, Critical Thinking, Poetry

Basically, this life balanced the harmony among all things in this world. The living things such as humans, animals and plants, and all the inanimate objects have their own role in this life. It is the human being that makes the environment destructed and no longer well arranged. In implementing the living environmental education, the main actor is human being, and the main focus is on the management of the environment through environmental education from primary education to higher education and to the community. The content of living environment is delivered integratedly at the primary education in the curriculum system by incorporating the themes about living environment. Learning a language is essentially learning to communicate in various contexts of communication. Therefore, the language learning in the curriculum in Indonesia is directed to improve the learner's ability to communicate, which may include environmental education both in oral and written modes. Learning the literature is learning the meanings through the values, one of which is through the way the values of environmental education are applied in learning the language and literature in elementary education.

This research method used descriptive qualitative method and was carried out in three stages, such as data collection, data classification, and data analysis stages. The data was collected by observing, interviewing, recording, and taking notes on the utterances conveyed by the informants. Classification of data was done by collecting forbidden expressions. Prohibition expressions are analyzed by using a hermeneutic approach to find out the meaning of the existing prohibition expressions. The objective of this research is to obtain a deep understanding about the online machine transla... more The objective of this research is to obtain a deep understanding about the online machine translation of graduate students in the Language Education Doctoral Program of State University of Jakarta, Indonesia, from source language to target language in order to achieve equivalence in the subject of Language Translation and Education. The approach used is qualitative approach with ethnography method. The translation process is conducted by writing down words or copying-pasting sentences to be translated and then those words/sentences will be automatically translated by machine translation. A repetitive edit, revision and correction process shall be first performed in order to get an optimum result i.e. translated sentences are equal in textual and meanings. The deviations occur due to inaccurate equivalents caused by different cultures between the source language and target language as well as the scope of translated language scientific field. The used strategy is a literal translation. Based on the research results, the translation of English tasks to Indonesian through the online translation program is very useful to facilitate the students' lecturing process in completing their tasks.

Education must be able to adapt to be more better, one of which is learning French literature. This study aims to determine learners' perceptions of the need for technology implementation in French literature learning. This study used a survey method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings show that from 90 respondents, 37.9% were strongly agreed, 56.6% were agreed, 5.0% were neutral, 0.1% were disagreed, and 0.3% were strongly disagree with the need for technology implementation in French literature teaching and learning activities. The approach used is a qualitative approach with content analysis method. The data collection technique used is Miles and Huberman. The theory used as the main reference is the deviation theory according to Geoffrey N. Leech which divides the deviation into eight types, namely lexical deviation, phonological deviation, grammatical deviation which includes morphological and syntactic, graphological deviation, semantic deviation, dialectal deviation, deviation of register, and deviation of historical period. This research aims to investigate the influence of reading interest on students’ achievement motivation of the undergraduate students of English Literature Study Program of Bina Darma University in Palembang. To achieve the aim, the questionnaires of reading interest and achievement motivation were administered to a group of 60 students who became the sample of the study. The questionnaires before had been piloted to other students out of the sample in order to check the validity and reliability. To analyze the data, path analysis was used and the result showed that there was a positive direct effect of reading interest on English literature students’ achievement motivation with the coefficient value 0.449. There are four perceptual focuses; conceptual understanding, forms of cooperation, writing skills, and classroom atmosphere. This study used a qualitative method involving 31 students who took academic writing courses and an English Lecturer. The research data were collected through questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that students and lecturer had a positive perception of the collaborative writing model in terms of understanding concepts, forms of cooperation, writing skills, and a pleasant learning classroom atmosphere. One of the most dominant aspects of students' perceptions about collaborative writing is the development of cooperation between them in the learning process (Storch 2018), which improves their writing abilities and skills (Zhang 2018).

However, no one compared children without and with language disorders that influences MLU and the number of forms in utterances. This study used qualitative methods with a case study approach. The research subjects were children without and with language disorders with a 4-year-old child with 100 utterances. Utterances on children without and with language disorders have very significant differences. In children without language disorders having an MLU of 5.34 at stage X means that children without a language disorder have a higher MLU because at the age of 4 the child has MLU 4.5 and above. Even though Jakarta is multiethnic, the use of Bahasa Indonesia has the dominant role as a national and official language. Mostly, Jakarta inhabitants use it even they have their vernacular language. That condition emerges the question on the vernacular language use in Jakarta. Considering from 746 vernacular languages in Indonesia, 296 suspected disappeared or in endangered state. It was required to investigate the language attitude across three generations of Jakarta inhabitants towards vernacular language use. This study applied qualitative approach with in-depth interview, observation and questionnaire from fifteen participants consisted of parents as the first generation, children as the second generation and grandchildren as the third generation. The study gave the deep understanding on three generation language attitudes toward their language vernacular use in their daily life in Jakarta context.

This study employed the quantitative research approach of the experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. The test results of the exposition paragraph writing and the thinking ability were analyzed by using a two-way ANOVA design with 0.05 of the significance level. To carry out qualitative research we collected data through interviews, observations and field records, and then analysed it employing Spradley’s model (used in ethnography). The research reveals that: (1) the Gorontalo language is used in the work interactions between all employees, or between employees and customers who are fluent in the Gorontalo language; customers will start conversations using the Gorontalo language if they have close relationships with their interlocutors; (2) the attitudes of the speakers who actively use the Gorontalo Language in the workplace towards the language under discussion can be positive and negative depending on the backgrounds of the speakers; (3) the factors that affect Gorontalo language preservation can be classified into two groups: factors from the outside of the community, including changes in the composition of multi-ethnic society...
