The aim of this study is to examine the levels of mental well-being in emerging adulthood in term... more The aim of this study is to examine the levels of mental well-being in emerging adulthood in terms of grit and cognitive flexibility. In the study, it was examined whether grit and cognitive flexibility predict mental well-being levels. A correlational survey model was used in the study. The data of the study were collected with "Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale", "Cognitive Flexibility Inventory" and "Brief Grit Scale". In the analysis of the data, groups t-test and one-way analysis of variance were performed. Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient was calculated to determine the relationship between the variables. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to determine the extent to which the variables predicted mental well-being. According to the findings of the study, it was observed that there was a positive and moderately significant relationship between students' mental well-being levels and their levels of grit and cognitive flexibility. It was also found that grit and cognitive flexibility predicted mental well-being. It explains 33.5% of the total variance of grit and cognitive flexibility, which are predictor variables. Finally, the findings obtained in the study were discussed in line with the relevant literature and suggestions for both study and practice areas were presented.

Bu araştırmanın bir diğer amacı, şükran ve umudun depresyon, anksiyete, stres düzeylerini yordayıp yordamadığının incelenmesidir. Araştırmada ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri "Depresyon, Anksiyete, Stres Ölçeği", "Şükran Ölçeği", "Sürekli Umut Ölçeği" ve araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen "Kişisel Bilgi Formu" ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, t-testi ile tek yönlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiyi saptamak için Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyon Katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Değişkenlerin depresyon, anksiyete, stresi yordayıp yordamadığını belirlemek için regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre beliren yetişkinlikte anksiyete ve stres düzeylerinde cinsiyet değişkenine göre; anksiyete düzeylerinde ise sınıf değişkenine göre anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin depresyon, anksiyete, stres düzeyleri ile şükran ve umut düzeyleri arasında negatif yönlü, anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu bulunmuştur. Depresyon, anksiyete, stresin umut tarafından; depresyon ve stresin ise şükran tarafından anlamlı düzeyde yordandığı görülmüştür. Yordayıcı değişkenler umut ile şükran, depresyonun toplam varyansının yaklaşık %16'sını, anksiyetenin toplam varyansının yaklaşık %6'sını ve stresin toplam varyansının yaklaşık %8'ini açıklamaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular alanyazın bağlamında tartışılarak uygulama ve araştırmalara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The aim of this study is to review the experimental studies conducted to evaluate the effectivene... more The aim of this study is to review the experimental studies conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the narrative therapy approach. In order to investigate the effectiveness of Narrative Therapy, Turkish and English studies published between 2006-2022 (December) in the databases of DergiPark, YÖK Thesis Center, Web Of Science, Sobiad, Science Direct, and Wiley Online Library were searched. The keywords "narrative therapy" "collective narrative practice" "narrative therapy groups" were used in the search. As a result of the scanning, a total of 19 articles suitable for the purpose of the research were reviewed. These articles are presented in terms of research methods, study findings and therapy characteristics. The study findings show that narrative therapy is effective on dependent variables. The results show that narrative therapy has a preventive and remedial effect in group therapies with children, adolescents and adults.

Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin bilişsel esneklik düzeylerini artırmak için uygulan... more Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin bilişsel esneklik düzeylerini artırmak için uygulanacak olan psikoeğitim programının etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak bilişsel esneklik düzeylerini artırmak üzere bilişsel esneklik psikoeğitim programı geliştirilmiştir. Psikoeğitim programının çalışma grubunu İç Anadolu bölgesinde bulunan bir ortaokula devam eden 7. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubu 9 kız, 11 erkek öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 13'tür. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Bilişsel Esneklik Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Hazırlanan psiko-eğitim programı 8 hafta süresince deney grubuna uygulanmış ve programın etkililiği incelenmiştir. Kontrol grubu için herhangi bir müdahale çalışması yapılmamıştır. Programın uygulandığı 8 haftanın sonunda deney grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin bilişsel esneklik düzeylerinin kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre anlamlı düzeyde yükseldiği görülmüş ve programın etkililiği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgular literatür kapsamında tartışılmıştır. Ayrıca hem uygulama hem de araştırma alanları için bulgulara dayalı olarak önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Bu araştırma, ortaokul öğrencilerinin umut düzeylerini arttırmaya yönelik hazırlanan umut temelli... more Bu araştırma, ortaokul öğrencilerinin umut düzeylerini arttırmaya yönelik hazırlanan umut temelli psiko-eğitim programını uygulamak ve bu programın etkililiğini sınamak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Pozitif psikoloji temelli olarak hazırlanan bu programın öğrencilerin umut düzeyi üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışma, Konya'da devlet okulunda 6. Sınıfta öğrenim gören toplam 24 öğrenci (12'si deney grubu, 12'si kontrol grubu) ile yürütülmüştür. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 11.8'dir. Çalışmaya katılanların 14'ü kız ve 10'u erkeklerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada "Çocuklarda Umut Ölçeği (ÇUÖ)" veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada ön-test, son-test, kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Umut temelli psiko-eğitim programı her bir oturum 50 dakika olarak 8 hafta boyunca deney grubuna uygulanmış ve programın etkililiği sınanmıştır. Kontrol grubu için ise herhangi bir müdahale yapılmamıştır. 8 hafta boyunca uygulanan bu programın sonunda deney grubu lehine umut düzeyinde anlamlı bir artış bulunurken kontrol grubu son test puanlarında artış olmadığı bulunmuştur.
This study examines the mediating role of hope in the relationship between grit, general self‐eff... more This study examines the mediating role of hope in the relationship between grit, general self‐efficacy, and life satisfaction. The sample of the study consisted of 485 university students (68.7% female). The age of the participants ranged from 18 to 39 (Mean: 20.85, SD: 2.30). According to the findings of the study, positive significant relationships were found between grit, general self‐efficacy, hope and life satisfaction. hope fully mediated the impact of grit on life satisfaction. Additionally, hope fully mediates the effect of general self‐efficacy on life satisfaction. These findings suggest that grit and general self‐efficacy associated with life satisfaction can be better understood with hope. Hope can be a factor that increases individuals' resilience and general self‐efficacy and is an important aspect of positive‐based interventions.

Hem bireysel hem de toplumsal gelişme için sağlıklı duygusal yaşamlar bir ön koşuldur. Bu çalışmanın amacı Kesebir ve diğerleri tarafından geliştirilen Duygusal Stil Ölçeğinin Türk kültürü için geçerlik ve güvenirliğini incelemektir. Duygusal Stil Ölçeğinin yapı geçerliği ilk olarak Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi (AFA) daha sonra ise Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) ile incelenmiştir. Ölçeğin güvenirliği Cronbach α iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı ile tespit edilmiştir. Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi çalışma grubu 168 kadın (%53.3) 147 erkek (%46.7) ve olmak üzere toplam 315 üniversite öğrencisi, Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi çalışma grubu 160 kadın (%53.7) ve 138 erkek (%46.3) olmak üzere toplam 298 üniversite öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. AFA sonuçları incelendiğinde Duygusal Stil Ölçeği'nin 18 madde ve 5 alt boyuttan oluştuğu görülmüştür. DFA sonucu ölçeğin beş faktörden oluşan yapısının model uyum indekslerinin iyi düzeyde olduğu saptanmıştır. Güvenirlik analiz değerlerine göre ölçeğin Cronbach α iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı ölçeğin tamamı için .79 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirlilik analizinde Cronbach alfa iç tutarlık katsayısı ile test-tekrar test korelasyon değerlerinin kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular sonucunda Duygusal Stil Ölçeğinin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olarak bireylerin duygusal boyutlarının incelenmesinde kullanılabileceği saptanmıştır. Participants of the study are 379 students (304 females, 75 males). The age range of the study group is 18-25. Five-Factor Personality Scale, Short Grit Scale, and Personal Information Form were used as data collection tools in the study. Analysis of the data was performed using the Pearson product moments correlation with the SPSS program and t-test techniques for independent groups. According to the findings obtained from the study, a positive significant relationship was found between liability, openness to experience, extraversion and adaptation personality traits, and grit levels. It's also found that a negative relationship between neuroticism and grit levels. In terms of gender, there was no significant difference between male students and female students in grit levels. However, in terms of gender, it was observed that there was a significant difference between male students and female students in terms of adaptation and openness to experience. The research findings were discussed within the scope of the literature and recommendations were made according to the results.

Today, the effects of increasingly lonely working and acting behaviors on life satisfaction have not been sufficiently studied. This study investigated the mediating role of positivity in the relationship between university students' life satisfaction and the tendency to act and work alone (i.e., lone wolf personality). The participants of the research are 249 people. The age of the participants is between 18-29 (Mean = 22.28, SD = 4.00). The Life Satisfaction with Life Scale, Lone Wolf Scale, and Positivity Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. The data were analyzed with the structural equation modeling method. According to the results, the lone wolf personality affects life satisfaction. In addition, it has been determined that positivity has a fully mediating role in the relationship between life satisfaction and lone wolf personality. The findings were discussed in the context of the literature.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the psychoeducational program prepared to i... more The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the psychoeducational program prepared to increase the level of grit and motivational commitment of secondary school students. In order to form the study group of the research, Short Grit Scale, Motivational Stability Scale and Personal Information Form were applied to a total of 324 tenth students, 128 girls and 196 boys studying in the secondary education institution in the 2018-2019 academic year. 12 students were assigned to the experimental group and 12 students to the control group as a result of individual interviews with students whose scale results were low in grit and motivational determination, volunteering to participate in the psycho-education program and providing the necessary criteria for participation in the study group. Grit psycho-education program was applied to the experimental group of the research once a week for 10 weeks. No action was taken on the control group. In the analysis of the data obtained, using the SPSS 21.0 statistical program, t test, ANOVA and nonparametric techniques, Friedman and Wilcoxon statistical analysis techniques were used for repeated measurements. According to the findings obtained in the study, it was concluded that the grit psycho-education program caused a significant increase on the levels of grit and motivational stability of the secondary school students in the experimental group and that there was no significant difference between the monitoring measurements made 2 months after the completion of the psycho-education program. The results of the research were discussed within the scope of the related literature and suggestions were made based on the finding.

The aim of this study is to review the experimental studies conducted to evaluate the effectivene... more The aim of this study is to review the experimental studies conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the narrative therapy approach. In order to investigate the effectiveness of Narrative Therapy, Turkish and English studies published between 2006-2022 (December) in the databases of DergiPark, YÖK Thesis Center, Web Of Science, Sobiad, Science Direct, and Wiley Online Library were searched. The keywords "narrative therapy" "collective narrative practice" "narrative therapy groups" were used in the search. As a result of the scanning, a total of 19 articles suitable for the purpose of the research were reviewed. These articles are presented in terms of research methods, study findings and therapy characteristics. The study findings show that narrative therapy is effective on dependent variables. The results show that narrative therapy has a preventive and remedial effect in group therapies with children, adolescents and adults.

Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin bilişsel esneklik düzeylerini artırmak için uygulan... more Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin bilişsel esneklik düzeylerini artırmak için uygulanacak olan psikoeğitim programının etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak bilişsel esneklik düzeylerini artırmak üzere bilişsel esneklik psikoeğitim programı geliştirilmiştir. Psikoeğitim programının çalışma grubunu İç Anadolu bölgesinde bulunan bir ortaokula devam eden 7. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubu 9 kız, 11 erkek öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 13'tür. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Bilişsel Esneklik Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Hazırlanan psiko-eğitim programı 8 hafta süresince deney grubuna uygulanmış ve programın etkililiği incelenmiştir. Kontrol grubu için herhangi bir müdahale çalışması yapılmamıştır. Programın uygulandığı 8 haftanın sonunda deney grubunda yer alan öğrencilerin bilişsel esneklik düzeylerinin kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre anlamlı düzeyde yükseldiği görülmüş ve programın etkililiği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgular literatür kapsamında tartışılmıştır. Ayrıca hem uygulama hem de araştırma alanları için bulgulara dayalı olarak önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Bu araştırma, ortaokul öğrencilerinin umut düzeylerini arttırmaya yönelik hazırlanan umut temelli... more Bu araştırma, ortaokul öğrencilerinin umut düzeylerini arttırmaya yönelik hazırlanan umut temelli psiko-eğitim programını uygulamak ve bu programın etkililiğini sınamak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Pozitif psikoloji temelli olarak hazırlanan bu programın öğrencilerin umut düzeyi üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışma, Konya'da devlet okulunda 6. Sınıfta öğrenim gören toplam 24 öğrenci (12'si deney grubu, 12'si kontrol grubu) ile yürütülmüştür. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 11.8'dir. Çalışmaya katılanların 14'ü kız ve 10'u erkeklerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada "Çocuklarda Umut Ölçeği (ÇUÖ)" veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada ön-test, son-test, kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Umut temelli psiko-eğitim programı her bir oturum 50 dakika olarak 8 hafta boyunca deney grubuna uygulanmış ve programın etkililiği sınanmıştır. Kontrol grubu için ise herhangi bir müdahale yapılmamıştır. 8 hafta boyunca uygulanan bu programın sonunda deney grubu lehine umut düzeyinde anlamlı bir artış bulunurken kontrol grubu son test puanlarında artış olmadığı bulunmuştur.
This study examines the mediating role of hope in the relationship between grit, general self‐eff... more This study examines the mediating role of hope in the relationship between grit, general self‐efficacy, and life satisfaction. The sample of the study consisted of 485 university students (68.7% female). The age of the participants ranged from 18 to 39 (Mean: 20.85, SD: 2.30). According to the findings of the study, positive significant relationships were found between grit, general self‐efficacy, hope and life satisfaction. hope fully mediated the impact of grit on life satisfaction. Additionally, hope fully mediates the effect of general self‐efficacy on life satisfaction. These findings suggest that grit and general self‐efficacy associated with life satisfaction can be better understood with hope. Hope can be a factor that increases individuals' resilience and general self‐efficacy and is an important aspect of positive‐based interventions.

Hem bireysel hem de toplumsal gelişme için sağlıklı duygusal yaşamlar bir ön koşuldur. Bu çalışmanın amacı Kesebir ve diğerleri tarafından geliştirilen Duygusal Stil Ölçeğinin Türk kültürü için geçerlik ve güvenirliğini incelemektir. Duygusal Stil Ölçeğinin yapı geçerliği ilk olarak Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi (AFA) daha sonra ise Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) ile incelenmiştir. Ölçeğin güvenirliği Cronbach α iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı ile tespit edilmiştir. Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi çalışma grubu 168 kadın (%53.3) 147 erkek (%46.7) ve olmak üzere toplam 315 üniversite öğrencisi, Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi çalışma grubu 160 kadın (%53.7) ve 138 erkek (%46.3) olmak üzere toplam 298 üniversite öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. AFA sonuçları incelendiğinde Duygusal Stil Ölçeği'nin 18 madde ve 5 alt boyuttan oluştuğu görülmüştür. DFA sonucu ölçeğin beş faktörden oluşan yapısının model uyum indekslerinin iyi düzeyde olduğu saptanmıştır. Güvenirlik analiz değerlerine göre ölçeğin Cronbach α iç tutarlık güvenirlik katsayısı ölçeğin tamamı için .79 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirlilik analizinde Cronbach alfa iç tutarlık katsayısı ile test-tekrar test korelasyon değerlerinin kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular sonucunda Duygusal Stil Ölçeğinin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olarak bireylerin duygusal boyutlarının incelenmesinde kullanılabileceği saptanmıştır. Participants of the study are 379 students (304 females, 75 males). The age range of the study group is 18-25. Five-Factor Personality Scale, Short Grit Scale, and Personal Information Form were used as data collection tools in the study. Analysis of the data was performed using the Pearson product moments correlation with the SPSS program and t-test techniques for independent groups. According to the findings obtained from the study, a positive significant relationship was found between liability, openness to experience, extraversion and adaptation personality traits, and grit levels. It's also found that a negative relationship between neuroticism and grit levels. In terms of gender, there was no significant difference between male students and female students in grit levels. However, in terms of gender, it was observed that there was a significant difference between male students and female students in terms of adaptation and openness to experience. The research findings were discussed within the scope of the literature and recommendations were made according to the results.

Today, the effects of increasingly lonely working and acting behaviors on life satisfaction have not been sufficiently studied. This study investigated the mediating role of positivity in the relationship between university students' life satisfaction and the tendency to act and work alone (i.e., lone wolf personality). The participants of the research are 249 people. The age of the participants is between 18-29 (Mean = 22.28, SD = 4.00). The Life Satisfaction with Life Scale, Lone Wolf Scale, and Positivity Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. The data were analyzed with the structural equation modeling method. According to the results, the lone wolf personality affects life satisfaction. In addition, it has been determined that positivity has a fully mediating role in the relationship between life satisfaction and lone wolf personality. The findings were discussed in the context of the literature.

Therefore, this study investigated the serial mediator roles of Instagram addiction and positive youth development in the relationship between anxious-avoidant attachment style and social appearance anxiety in adolescents. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the psychoeducational program prepared to i... more The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the psychoeducational program prepared to increase the level of grit and motivational commitment of secondary school students. In order to form the study group of the research, Short Grit Scale, Motivational Stability Scale and Personal Information Form were applied to a total of 324 tenth students, 128 girls and 196 boys studying in the secondary education institution in the 2018-2019 academic year. 12 students were assigned to the experimental group and 12 students to the control group as a result of individual interviews with students whose scale results were low in grit and motivational determination, volunteering to participate in the psycho-education program and providing the necessary criteria for participation in the study group. Grit psycho-education program was applied to the experimental group of the research once a week for 10 weeks. No action was taken on the control group. In the analysis of the data obtained, using the SPSS 21.0 statistical program, t test, ANOVA and nonparametric techniques, Friedman and Wilcoxon statistical analysis techniques were used for repeated measurements. According to the findings obtained in the study, it was concluded that the grit psycho-education program caused a significant increase on the levels of grit and motivational stability of the secondary school students in the experimental group and that there was no significant difference between the monitoring measurements made 2 months after the completion of the psycho-education program. The results of the research were discussed within the scope of the related literature and suggestions were made based on the finding.

In this study, quantitative research methods from general screening models were used as a relational screening technique. The study group consists of students studying at Kazım Karabekir Vocational School of Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University in the 2018 2019 academic year. A total of 354 students, 273 of whom were female and 81 of whom were male, were selected with appropriate sampling method.
