I finished my PhD in telecommunication in university of Porto, Portugal. I was a PhD student in MAP-TELE programme from December 2008 to October 2013. I have finished my BSc and MSc degree from Mathematics Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh. After finishing my MSc, I join as a lecturer in the same discipline and now I am working as a professor.My PhD research project builds upon the information-theoretic security foundations to analyze, design and optimization schemes, or in a broader sense, transmission schemes, for wireless communications systems, exploring also their applications in current standards for wireless systems such as WiFi and WiMax.

The closed form expression for the single input single output (SISO) Poisson channel -derived by Kabanov in 1978, and Davis in 1980-will be investigated. In addition, we derive closed form expressions for the capacity of the parallel Poisson channel and the capacity of the multiple access Poisson Channel (MAC). The optimum power allocation is also derived for different models; results have been analyzed in the context of information theory and optical communications.

In particular, we formulate a zero-sum power allocation game between the transmitter and the jammer where the payoff function is the secrecy rate. We characterize the optimal power allocation strategies as well as the Nash equilibrium in some asymptotic regimes. We also provide a set of results that cast further insight into the problem.

The majority of worldwide data and voice traffic is transported using optical communication chann... more The majority of worldwide data and voice traffic is transported using optical communication channels. As the demand for bandwidth continues to increase, it is of great importance to find closed form expressions of the information capacity for the optical communications applications at the backbone as well as the access networks. In particular, we introduce an information-theoretic derivation of the capacity expressions of Poisson channels that model the application. The closed form expression for the capacity of the single input single output (SISO) Poisson channel-derived by Kabanov in 1978, and Davis in 1980 will be revisited. Similarly, we will derive closed form expressions for the capacity of the multiple accesses Poisson channel (MAC) under the assumption of constant shot noise. This provides a framework for an empirical form of the k-users MAC Poisson channel capacity with average powers that are not necessarily equal. Moreover, we interestingly observed that the capacity of the MAC Poisson channel is a function of the SISO Poisson channel and upper bounded by this capacity plus some quadratic non-linear terms. We have also observed that the optimum power allocation in the case of Poisson channels follows a waterfilling alike interpretation to the one in Gaussian channels, where power is allotted to less noisy channels. Therefore, we establish a comparison between Gaussian channels and Poisson optical channels in the context of information theory and optical communications.

In particular, we formulate a zero-sum power allocation game between the transmitter and the jammer where the payoff function is the secrecy rate. We characterize the optimal power allocation strategies as well as the Nash equilibrium in some asymptotic regimes. We also provide a set of results that cast further insight into the problem. Our scenario, which is applicable to current OFDM communications systems, demonstrates that transmitters that adapt to jammer experience much higher secrecy rates than non-adaptive transmitters.

We give algorithms to compute the optimal power allocation strategy of the jammer in the degraded scenario. We also give an algorithm to compute power allocations strategies of the jammer in a general scenario, leading to significant performance gains in relation to isotropic jamming. Additionally, we provide a set of results that cast further insight into the problem. In our scenario, which is applicable to current OFDM communications systems, we demonstrate that the proposed jammer power allocation strategy can lead to considerable secrecy gains.

Device to Device (D2D) communication provides a promising technique for 5G wireless networks, sup... more Device to Device (D2D) communication provides a promising technique for 5G wireless networks, supporting higher data rates. Security of data transmission over wireless clouds could put constraints on devices; whether to cooperate or not. Therefore, our aim is to provide analytical framework for the security at the physical layer and to define the constraints embodied with cooperation in wireless clouds. In this paper, two legitimate transmitters Alice and John cooperate to increase the reliable transmission rate received by their common legitimate receiver Bob, where one eavesdropper, Eve exists. We propose a distributed algorithm that allows the devices to select whether to cooperate or not and to adapt their optimal power allocation based on the cooperation framework selected. Moreover, we define distance constraints to enforce the benefits of cooperation between devices in a wireless cloud.
