This study, therefore, intends to thoroughly compare the claims of these contrasting ideologies by taking the gnosis of mankind. Regarding the methodology of article, clear and logical arguments are used for clarifying the ambiguity surrounding the topic under consideration. In neoliberalism, there is complete silence on the issue of the human incorporeal soul while in case of Islam, Muslims philosophers explained it in a sensible and easy to understand manner. Neoliberalism which motivates human being for selfishness and maximization of profit are associated with violence and corruption across the planet. The purpose of this study is to examine the applicability of cash waqf among the Muslim society. ... more The purpose of this study is to examine the applicability of cash waqf among the Muslim society. It seeks the evidence of how waqf improves the socio-economic condition of Muslims in Malaysia. Two established waqf institutions in Malaysia had been selected, namely Waqaf Annur Corporation Berhad and Perbadanan Wakaf Selangor as representatives of private and public sectors, respectively. Data was collected through interviews, data archives and document reviews. Both institutions show signifi cant evidence of waqf contribution to religious, economic and social activities. Perbadanan Wakaf Selangor focuses on benefi ts to the public such as mosque management and school development, while Waqaf Annur Corporation Berhad provides funds for public utilities as well as for individuals. This paper contributes to the literature of cash waqf and also informs stakeholder that waqf is the alternative method toward societal development. This paper attempts to look at the possibility of collaboration of Islamic agricultural finance i... more This paper attempts to look at the possibility of collaboration of Islamic agricultural finance in agricultural land development realizing the farmers' financial problems during the case study and the government efforts in invigorating agricultural sector in Malaysia. Agricultural product and Loss Sharing (aPLS) which based on the contracts of al-muzara'a and al-musaqa from Islamic jurisprudence, partnership between the landowner and the farmer in brief, was highlighted in this paper. Agro Bank has the potential to employ Islamic agricultural finance realizing its roles in developing agricultural sector in Malaysia and its direction to be a full-fledged Islamic bank. The case study was carried out based on two methods that are interviews and questionnaire. These two methods have been used among the farmers under the one-off subsidy program by the Department of Agriculture in the selected six states in Malaysia. It was found that the farmers at the survey areas faced the financial problems during the second cycle cultivating yet the farmers have the capability in saving at the financial institutions. Thus, the main theme of this paper is that how Islamic agricultural finance can play a positive role and possible solutions to the farmers in Malaysia and eventually promoting agricultural development in Malaysia.
