For large parts and due to its size limitations it is sometimes required to join 3D printed parts with other 3D printed parts or conventionally produced parts. In this work 3D printed flat plates 4mm thick were prepared by direct laser sintering of SS316L powders. Mechanical properties and microstructure were investigated. Elongation and maximum tensile stress of 3D printed flat plates are with 1.3% and 704MPa close to the values 2% and 1241MPa of cold-rolled SS316 parts. The 3D printed flat plates were joined by welding using TIG welding, Plasma welding and Laser welding. The welded joints were tested for their mechanical properties and microstructure. For the used welding conditions, the fracture occurred outside the weld zone. The maximum stress of the welded parts is 65-80% of 3D printed flat plates. The elongation of the welded parts is above 3%.

In Saudi Arabia, breast cancer cases are detected at relatively advanced stages (IIb & III). Mammography ensures early diagnosis and a better chance for treatment and complete recovery. Programs for early diagnosis of breast cancer are still lacking in the Eastern Region countries. This paper reviews a governmental early detection initiative launched in September 2017 till March 2018 in Makkah of Saudi Arabia, in which 27 health centers, hospitals and public places were covered. Screening was offered to all women aged 40 years and above, a total of 15475 women were covered with this program. The number of cancers detected was 6, a cancer detection rate of 0.4 per 1000 women screened. The cancers detected had either no mass or the lesions were smaller than 2cm. The mean age of women with cancer was 51.4 (SD 7) years. A formal health education and screening program in Saudi Arabia is needed, for early detection to prevent breast cancer mortality, despite the controversies about efficacy of mammography screening.

Tuberculous mastitis can mimic many other pathologies in both clinical presentation and on imaging. Isolated primary involvement of the breast is extremely rare. It estimated incidence is less than 0.1% of all breast lesions in Western countries and 3-4% of all breast lesions in endemic countries. It typically affects young lactating multiparous women.

And ankle ligaments are encountered in multiple situations leading to be investigated well for detecting the accurate management. Inour study, we analyze the reliability and validity of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the detection of ankle ligaments injuries. Thirty patients who are clinically suspected to have ligament injury are examined by MRI and results are analyzed.

The hybrid joining between different bi-metallic materials has become extremely important in many... more The hybrid joining between different bi-metallic materials has become extremely important in many industrial applications especially where the combination of strength and weight reduction is needed. High temperature materials such as high strength steels and Ti alloys combined with lightweight materials such as aluminium are widely being used in many industrial applications and particularly in the automotive and aerospace industries. Traditional fusion welding processes introduce significant amount of heat into the material and frequently lead to property deterioration, such as cracking and porosity during solidification. On the other hand the hybrid joining between different bi-metallic materials using conventional welding techniques are not possible. These problems could be overcome by the use of the recently developed solid state friction welding approaches. This review paper focuses on aspects of rotary friction welding of high performance and high-temperature materials combined with lightweight alloys, and introduce a new realization for friction welding of incompatible bimetals.

Therefore, it is crucial to diagnose it early for timely prevention and treatment of osteoporotic fractures. Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) is currently routinely used for determining bone mineral density. However, it has its limitations. Nowadays, CT technology has advanced so rapidly that the Hounsfield units (HU) values can be used in opportunistic screening for osteoporosis in patients during routine CT abdomen for other causes. Hence, there would be no need for additional study with DEXA and also reduce radiation exposure. The aim of our research is to determine whether there is a correlation between the bone mineral density and the Tscore measured by DEXA and the HU values measured from the diagnostic CT images of L1-4 vertebrae. Also, to determine reference CT values that would help in screening the patients with osteoporosis. Materials and methods We conducted a retrospective study of 78 female patients who underwent CT lumbar spine, abdomen, and pelvis in our hospital between the years 2016-2020. We collected data of patients who performed DEXA and CT scans within an interval of up to two years. The final collected data was analyzed to find correlation values of HU with age group and with DEXA bone mineral density (BMD) and T-score using Pearson correlation coefficient.

Further studies have yielded six additional members, four of which are new natural products, and are the subject of this report. Dihydrochrysanolide (1) was isolated from a partition fraction of the ethanolic ex tract residue of the leaves by repeated chromatography and crystallization. High resolu tion ms supported the formula C17H 220 5, and the ir spectrum suggested hydroxyl, ester, lactonic, and olefinic functions. The ’H-nmr spectrum (table 1) contained a pair of one-proton split doublets at 5.83 and 6.14 ppm, characteristic of methylene protons of a,P'-unsaturated 7 -lactones. The extra splitting (J=0 .9 Hz) of the typical doublets, which is caused by geminal coupling, is observed with tram lactones bearing an oxygen function with...

However, tagging the oil quality by its content of a limited number of components oversimplifies not only the process of estimating the oil purity but also the process of assessing its potency, and hence; the wholeness-value of the material would not be treasured. In this study, an evaluation of the commercially available chamomile oil was conducted using two different chromatographic techniques (TLC and GC) and assisted by chemometrics while not being endured or bound by the former quality-curbing markers. An innovative tool for visualizing the oils compositional-quality has been developed via merging the analytical concept of HCA with DE-TLC and GC profiles which will be of value in discriminating between the various quality grades o...

With the demanding need for improvement in the strength to weight ratio in automotive and transpo... more With the demanding need for improvement in the strength to weight ratio in automotive and transportation industries, joining of dissimilar materials such as aluminium with steel has become a stimulating and challenging issue. Many investigations were done in order to achieve a successful joining of both materials using different welding processes but an efficient joining using a thermal welding process is still problematical. Not only that extreme difference in the physical and chemical properties of both materials has to be considered but on the other hand a brittle intermetallic phase (IMP) is formed between steel and aluminium leading to a poor weld or no weld at all. In all of the thermal welding processes, due to its high economical potentiality, resistance spot welding remains the leading joining process used in the automotive industry. Investigations have shown that due to the disturbance of heat balance, a conventional resistance spot welding process is not appropriate for j...

It is a retrospective study of 54 patients for whom a follow-up CCTA was requested were included for this study. Those patients had previous experience with the insertion of a 18 g conventional IV catheter which allows a flow rate of ≥ 6 ml/s and the complications during injection were registered. Patients were informed that a new IV catheter (The BD Nexiva™ Diffusics™ Closed IV Catheter System 22 g while still meeting a high flow rate > 6 m/s) will be used for their examination. We analyzed mean vascular attenuations in the ascending aorta, left main coronary artery, left ventricular (LV) cavity, and descending aorta (DA). Their feedback was collected regarding pain and the number of trials for catheter insertion. In addition, ...

Atlas occipitalization or assimilation is one of the most common osseous congenital anomalies of the craniovertebral junction [1]. Atlas assimilation refers to the congenital fusion of the atlas with the base of the occipital bone, according to Yochum & Rowe [2].
