Professor at the University of Zagreb. Fellow of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Guest Professor at the University of Delhi and Harvard University in previous periods. Main contributions in the fields of indology (esp. Vedic and Sanskrit epic philology), philosophy (comparative research of Indian and Ancient Greek philosophy), linguistics, and comparative Croatian studies. Initiated the regular Dubrovnik International Conference on the Sanskrit Epics and Puranas (since 1997), general editor of the proceedings of the DICSEP. Organized the 7th International Vedic Workshop in 2019. General editor of the encyclopedic series of the Croatian Academy Croatia and Europe: culture, sciences, arts. Published 16 books and over 130 scholarly papers.
