The pro-inflammatory roles of the Gal-3-induced activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and the consecutive production of IL-1β have been described in several acute and chronic inflammatory diseases, but the role of this inflammatory axis in parturition has not been studied. The aim of this study was to analyze the protein expression of Gal-3, NLRP3, and IL-1β in the decidua, villi, and fetal membranes, and to analyze their mutual correlation and correlation with the clinical parameters of inflammation in preterm birth (PTB) and term birth (TB). The study included 40 women that underwent a preterm birth (gestational age of 25.0–36.6) and histological chorioamnionitis (PTB) and control subjects, 22 women that underwent a term birth (gestational age of 37.0–41.6) without histological chorioamnionitis (TB). An analysis of the tissue sections that were...

Their pathogenesis is complex. Patients are searching for ways of coping with them condition, including diet modi cations. The aim of this study was to assess the role of medical personnel in shaping eating habits in patients with autoimmune thyroid disease based on experiences declared by patients. Methods: There were 208 people that took part in the study, of which 205 were quali ed for nal analysis. The results showed that patients most often choose online sources, while medical personnel rank second as the source of information on dietary recommendations. Results: People with thyroid disease are statistically more likely to use dietitian advice than people without thyroid disease. The highest percentage of respondents decided to modify their nutrition due to their own initiative. In addition, patients with autoimmune thyroid disease are statistically more likely to consider changing their diet to improve their well-being. The connection between the source of advice and modi cation of eating behaviour was also noted. Conclusion: Thanks to the joint effort of medical staff, patients can receive reliable knowledge about their disease, treatment and nutrition adapted to their needs.

About 8 % of all pregnancies are complicated with hypertensive disorders. There is concordance that severe hypertension should be treated without delay to reduce maternal risks of acute cerebrovascular complications. Intravenous labetalol and oral nifedipine are as effective as intravenous hydralazine in control of severe hypertension, with less adverse effects. Still, there is no consensus as to whether mild-to-moderate hypertension in pregnancy should be treated, considering that there are no definitive conclusions which can be made about the relative maternal or perinatal benefits/risks of antihypertensive treatment. Considering their safe usage during pregnancy, methyldopa, labetalol and nifedipine are commonly used blood-pressure lowering drugs for pregnant women with hypertension. The cardio-selective β- blocker atenolol should be avoided in pregnancy, because it has been associa...

These malicious codes are sometimes found in new forms, but in many cases they are modified from existing malicious codes. Since there are too many threatening malicious codes that are being continuously generated for human analysis, various studies to efficiently detect, classify, and analyze are essential. There are two main ways to analyze malicious code. First, static analysis is a technique to identify malicious behaviors by analyzing the structure of malicious codes or specific binary patterns at the code level. The second is a dynamic analysis technique that uses virtualization tools to build an environment in a virtual machine and executes malicious code to analyze malicious behavior. The method used to analyze malicious codes in this paper is a static analysis technique. Although there is a lot of information that can be obtained from dynamic analysis, there is a disadvantage that it can be analyzed normally only when the environment in which each malicious code is executed is matched. However, since the method proposed in this paper tracks and analyzes the execution stream of the code, static analysis is performed, but the effect of dynamic analysis can be expected. The core idea of this paper is to express the malicious code as a 25 25 pixel image using 25 API categories selected. The interaction and frequency of the API is made into a 25 25 pixel image based on a matrix using RGB values. When analyzing the malicious code, the Euclidean distance algorithm is applied to the generated image to measure the color similarity, and the similarity of the mutual malicious behavior is calculated based on the final Euclidean distance value. As a result, as a result of comparing the similarity calculated by the proposed method with the similarity calculated by the existing similarity calculation method, the similarity was calculated to be 5-10% higher on average. The method proposed in this study spends a lot of time deriving results because it analyzes, visualizes, and calculates the similarity of the visualized sample. Therefore, it takes a lot of time to analyze a huge number of malicious codes. A large amount of malware can be analyzed through followup studies, and improvements are needed to study the accuracy according to the size of the data set.

The classification of cytological smears was performed in accordance with the Bethesda system. The hypotheses established in this study were statistically tested. The greatest number of cytological findings was NILM. However, the most frequent abnormal cytological findings in terms of percentage were ASC-US. After secondary cervical findings of 8.1% of the total number of women, biopsies were performed. In 68.5...

The aim of our study was to investigate whether this oxytocin effect was specific and by which receptors it was mediated. We investigated effects of oxytocin and its antagonists on isolated isthmus and ampulla of the uterine tubes from 20 women who underwent surgery for uterine fibroids. Selective vasopressin and oxytocin antagonists were used to treat isolated preparations of the tubes. In a concentration-dependent manner, oxytocin enhanced spontaneous relaxation of both isthmus (EC50=1.23+/-0.03 x 10(-7) mol/L) and ampulla (EC50=1.04+/-0.26 x 10(-7) mol/L) precontracted by histamine. Neither predominantly selective vasopressin V1 receptor antagonist, [beta-mercapto-beta,beta-cyclopentamethylene-propionyl1,0-metyr2,arg8]-vasopressin (1.0 x 10(-9)-1.0 x 10(-7) mol/L), nor predominantly selective vasopressin V2 antagonist, [1-(beta-mercapto-beta,beta-cyclo...

Formiranje mikronukleusa predstavlja posledicu nastalih hromozomskih aberacija uzrokovanih dejstvom različitih genetskih i sredinskih faktora. Nebalansirana ishrana, nedostatak fizičkog vežbanja, nedovoljno sna i prekovremeni rad doprinose statistički značajno povećanoj frekvenci mikronukleusa. Zdrav način života, optimalni unos antioksidanasa i redovna umerena fizička aktivnost značajno redukuju frekvencu mikronukleusa, odnosno doprinose stabilnosti genoma.

Almost all individual antipsychotics are classified into the intermediate pregnancy risk category as no or limited data exist about human pregnancy outcomes. We presented the case of zuclopenthixol decanoate using in two successive pregnancies of the same woman, which had not been published in the available peer-reviewed literature. Case report. A middle-age female subject who suffered from schizophrenia received zuclopenthixol decanoate injection during her two consecutive pregnancies. About four and a half months before diagnosis of the first pregnancy (~3.5 years after psychosis emergence), zuclopenthixol decanoate (400 mg every other week, im injection) was introduced to the treatment protocol (due to previous non-compliance with haloperidol and risperidone). A significant clinical improvement was achieved and the dose during pregnancy was reduced to 200 mg once monthly and maintained to date. In both pregnancies the women gave birth to healthy girls who have been ...

The incidence of this anomaly is 0.5 to 4 per 10.000 liveborn babies. We presented a patient, aged 27 years, who had gastroschisis of the fetus in the 13th week of gestation diagnosed by ultrasound. Ultrasound examination is the method of choice for prenatal detection of fetal anomalies. By differential diagnosis, the possible existence of omphalocele should be eliminated using (2D, 3D) and power Doppler technology which significantly makes the assessment of gynecologist easier during establishment of the final diagnosis.
