Prof. Domb is currently the head of the Computer Science Department of the Ashkelon Academy College in Israel. Graduated from the Technion with a DSc degree in Operations Research, holds an MSc in Computer Science from New York University (NYU), and an MBA from Tel-Aviv University. His Post-doctorate was at Washington University in MO, USA. His main research interest is in Cyber Security, IoT, and Telecommunications. In parallel, he worked in the IT industry for over 30 years and has experience in various executive positions in large international IT companies, in the Telecom, Health, Security, Finance, and Government domains.

With the vast spread of automation, the significant demand for communication services, adding IoT... more With the vast spread of automation, the significant demand for communication services, adding IoT to the Internet, and the corresponding huge increase and sophistication in malicious attacks utilizing system vulnerabilities to penetrate systems. Identification and Authentication are heavily used in every access trial towards any electronic resource and communication networks. The traditional approach to coping with such challenges is using passwords, encryption, Secure ID, Firewall, Etc. More safety methods use Biometrics, which suffer from spoofing. The access control market is a fast-growing and highly volatile market that poses significant challenges for investors seeking to make secured decisions. As the market continues to evolve and become more mainstream, there is a growing demand for new identification and authentication technologies. This paper proposes expanding the number of features extracted from a 3D image, with unique features evolved during the generation of the 3D image of the prospect at the access control stage. We mounted two identical 2D cameras on the same bar, allowing the adjustment of the distance between the two mounted cameras. The two cameras are simultaneously activated, generating a unique 3D image, including some distortion. This stage is executed at the person enrollment process and repeated at the access stage, providing an enhanced, unique, and cannot be faked Authentication. Experiments support the proposed approach.

Strengthening IoT Network Protocols: A Model Resilient Against Cyber Attacks

Th e pervasive Internet of Th ings (IoT) integration has revolutionized industries such as medici... more Th e pervasive Internet of Th ings (IoT) integration has revolutionized industries such as medicine, environmental care, and urban development. Th e synergy between IoT devices and 5G cellular networks has further accelerated this transformation, providing ultra-high data rates and ultra-low latency. Th is connectivity enables various applications, including remote surgery, autonomous driving, virtual reality gaming, and AI-driven smart manufacturing. However, IoT devices' realtime and high-volume messaging nature exposes them to potential malicious attacks. Th e implementation of encryption in such networks is challenging due to the constraints of IoT devices, including limited memory, storage, and processing bandwidth. In a previous work [1], we proposed an ongoing key construction process, introducing a pivotal pool to enhance network security. Th e protocol is designed with a probability analysis to ensure the existence of a shared key between any pair of IoT devices, with the predefi ned probability set by the system designer. However, our earlier model faced vulnerabilities such as the "parking lot attack" and physical attacks on devices, as highlighted in the conclusion section. We present a complementary solution to address these issues, fortifying our previous protocol against cyber threats. Our approach involves the implementation of an internal Certifi cation Authority (CA) that issues certifi cates for each IoT device before joining the network. Furthermore, all encryption keys are distributed by the primary IoT device using the Unix OS 'passwd' mechanism. If a device "disappears, " all encryption keys are promptly replaced, ensuring continuous resilience against potential security breaches. Th is enhanced protocol establishes a robust security framework for IoT networks, safeguarding against internal and external threats.

IoT networks need sufficient resources to cope with the growing security challenges. In most cases, cryptography is implemented by symmetric and asymmetric encryption methods to cope with these security issues. Symmetric cryptography requires transmitting an encryption key to the receiver to decrypt the received encrypted messages. Consequently, secured key distribution techniques are the core for providing security and establishing a secured connection among objects. Encryption keys are frequently changed through key distribution mechanisms. Encrypted key exchange is a protocol that allows two parties who share the same key to communicate over an insecure network. This chapter outlines the challenges and core requirements for a robust key distribution mechanism, beginning with evaluating existing solutions and then detailing three innovative, efficient, and lightweight methods that balance the security level, network performance, and low processing overhead impact.

E-commerce ecosystem is a complex arrangement of different tools and systems making the entire system full of complexities. The higher the rate of a complex system in any business operations, the higher are the stakes of risk. The E-Commerce sector is no exception and is constantly barraged by risks due to strategic, operational, and financial hiccups. The Internet has not only accelerated the E-Commerce ecosystem but has also given a new set of threats which requires dynamic detection and Fixes. The major challenge faced by this sector is related to a risk of revenue loss due to revenue leakages in the area of network /system security and cyber frauds. Hence the objective of this paper is to explore sources of revenue leakages happening because of cyber frauds and technical failures and proposes probable solutions to mitigate the revenue loss.

IoT systems collect vast amounts of data which can be used in order to track and analyze the stru... more IoT systems collect vast amounts of data which can be used in order to track and analyze the structure of future recorded data. However, due to limited computational power, bandwith, and storage capabilities, this data cannot be stored as is, but rather must be reduced in such a way so that the abilities to analyze future data, based on past data, will not be compromised. We propose a parameterized method of sampling the data in an optimal way. Our method has three parameters — an averaging method for constructing an average data cycle from past observations, an envelope method for defining an interval around the average data cycle, and an entropy method for comparing new data cycles to the constructed envelope. These parameters can be adjusted according to the nature of the data, in order to find the optimal representation for classifying new cycles as well as for identifying anomalies and predicting future cycle behavior. In this work we concentrate on finding the optimal envelope, given an averaging method and an entropy method. We demonstrate with a case study of meteorological data regarding El Ninio years.

These systems consume considerable computational resources. Devices in the Internet of Things [IoT] are very limited with processing capacity, memory and storage. Therefore, existing security systems are not applicable for IoT. To cope with it, we propose downsizing of existing security processes. In this chapter, we describe three areas, where we reduce the required storage space and processing power. The first is the classification process required for ongoing anomaly detection, whereby values accepted or generated by a sensor are classified as valid or abnormal. We collect historic data and analyze it using machine learning techniques to draw a contour, where all streaming values are expected to fall within the contour space.
