This research used the revised version of the TCM by Meyer et al. (1993). The literature reports many issues related to its theory and construct validity. The fact that TCM was developed in Western culture and lacks validation in the Maldivian context reveals the necessity to conduct this study. Towards this, the current study employed 250 employees from the resorts of the Maldives. The results of CFA revealed affective commitment is the only component that constitutes OC. This study contributes to the body of knowledge in OC from different cultural perspectives

Three main research questions are addressed: 1) What are the qualities preferred among fresh business graduates? 2) What ratings do employers give to the qualities of fresh business graduates? 3) Are the employers satisfied with the qualities of fresh business graduates? Data was collected from a questionnaire-based survey done on a sample of 127 human resource managers in Malaysia. The qualities of the fresh graduates include knowledge, skills, abilities, and others (experience, behaviour and attitudes), or KSAOs. Analyses on the mean scores indicate various aspects of KSAOs that employers seek in fresh business graduates. Even though the employers are generally satisfied with the graduates' qualities, the preference-assessment comparison reveals significant gaps in the graduates' skills and abilities. The findings are discussed and interpreted to provide important implications to employers, graduates and educational institutions.

They were asked to indicate their preferences on organizational culture, leadership, communication, decision making, team working, motivation, and development. Using the same dimensions, the respondents then reported their actual experiences, thus enabling gaps to be determined.FindingsThe results from paired‐sample t‐tests suggest that significant expectation gaps exist in all the areas surveyed. While communication, decision making and motivation are found to be significantly related to job satisfaction, none of the seven variables is found to be significantly correlated to organizational commitment.Research limitations/implicationsThe study focuses only on a rather limited sample size of Malaysian graduates; therefore it cannot ensure generalization of results obtained.Practical implicationsThe resulting expectation gaps, and their influence on the graduates' job satisfaction and organizational commitment, have implications for the important roles played by employers, higher learning institutions, and graduate themselves.Originality/valueThis study makes significant contributions in three key areas. First, it is perhaps one of the earliest studies to comprehensively address the issue of expectation gaps using a myriad factors. Engineering education is changing to meet these challenges. A study was conducted with the sample of 202 final year undergraduates in engineering faculties in Sri Lanka. Exploratory Factor Analysis, Multiple Regression and Structural Equation Modeling were applied to analyze the relationships of these variables. The results demonstrate that entrepreneurial personality traits which relate significantly to entrepreneurial intention of undergraduates are characterized by high emotional stability and openness to experience. The findings are discussed and interpreted to provide important implications to practitioners and academics.

The objective of this study is to find the full range of scientific literature published since the emergence of the concept of e-learning. The researcher intended to get all of the literature published in the Sri Lankan context. Web of Science database search was carried out in January 2020 to understand the research trend. This study found 6934 results for e-learning after performing a basic search in Web of Science. This results covered 59784 citations. Though multilingual literature was found, 6,617 (95.43%) items were published in English language. Though different types of documents were included in the search result, journal articles were predominant with 5839 (84.21%) instances. USA and England accounted for 1003 (14.24%) and 828 (11.75%) papers respectively, which placed them as the countries that contributed the most. Considering the subject area broadly, the literature has been classified into 25 disciplines of which 1843 (26.57%) of publications falling into the Educational research category. The average number of citations per publication is recorded as 14.4. The top 25 institutions have published 1245 papers that received a total of 8026 citations excluding self-citations. The University of London is the most productive organization, has published 131 papers on e-learning. Among the authors, Huang, Yong-Ming of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has published the most number of papers (19) on e-learning.

The objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of attitudinal belief of "Decomposed ... more The objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of attitudinal belief of "Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior" (DTPB) on actual e-learning behavior among university academics in Sri Lanka. The study applied a quantitative method by using questionnaire to collect data among university academics. Explorative and Confirmatory Factor analysis was used to examine the reliability and validity. And this study carried out Structural Equation Modeling to assess model fit and through path analysis, the association between variables was investigated. The study resulted that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, compatibility, attitude, behavioural intentions and actual behaviour met the indices for model fit. The findings showed perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use associated with attitude while compatibility is not. Attitude significantly and positively associated with behavioural intention. While behavioural intention positively associated with the actual usage this mediates the relationship between attitude and actual behaviour. The e-learning usage of academicians will help to enhance the quality of higher education system in Sri Lanka as well as to magnify the number of university intake as the country seeks to achieve its vision to be "the knowledge hub in the region and a leader in higher education in Asia by 2020". Though the e-learning adoption studies are growing trend of education and system researchers as evidenced by extant literature, studies on attitude and intention of academicians especially in an emerging economy like Sri Lanka is still lacking. This study attempts to establish the attitudinal factors that contributes actual e-learning behavior of academicians.

Most of the researchers were interested in identifying successful entrepreneurs, specifically on the traits and behaviors. With the governments across various countries create policy and measures in creating entrepreneurs, this further adds to the importance of research in the entrepreneurial area. This research attempts to identify potential entrepreneurs among business undergraduates in Malaysia. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior and the personal values associated with an entrepreneur, the research conducted an identity matching. Thus, the influencing factors are determined. The findings of the research revealed that components of Theory of Planned Behavior, which consists ofsubjective norm, attitude towards behavior and perceived behavioral control, are factors that influence entrepreneurial career. Demographics characteristics such as gender and parents occupational background have influence too. The findings inform to ensure quality entrepreneurs are produced, and concentration should target at these influencing factors. INTRODUCTION Entrepreneurs play an integral part in today's economy. According to Association of University Technology Managers (2001), entrepreneurship accounts for 70% of all new jobs and is a crucial topic for the 21st century. Countries such as Brazil, Korea and United States lead the world in entrepreneurial activities. Similarly, countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan largely owed their substantial growth to entrepreneurial activities . Over the past 35 years, they have transformed themselves from being technologically backward and poor into modern prosperous economies. In Malaysia, entrepreneurship has undergone a period of rapid growth in the last 1 0 to 1 5 years . It is acknowledged to be a critical area that provides the support on the process of economic development in achieving a developed nation status . The Ministry of Entrepreneurial Development has set the objective to generate and develop entrepreneurs who are resilient, successful and competitive in all the potential growth sectors of the economy. Another agency, the Small and Medium Industries Corporation (SMIDEC) was established in 1 996 to produce capable Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) that can compete in the liberalized market. The establishment of SMIDEC was in recognition of the need for a specialized agency to further promote the development of SMIs. Among the areas of assistance are through advisory service, fiscal and financial assistance, infrastructure facilities and other support programs. One of the sources identified by the Malaysian government in promoting and creating entrepreneurs are university graduates. Graduates are considered valuables resources that will affect the quality of the future society. Furthermore, they play critical roles in assuring the continued development of the economy of a country. Among the steps the government has introduced is training scheme for graduates who are interested in venturing into entrepreneurship. At present, most Malaysian universities offer courses in business, which also includes entrepreneurship. Surveys indicated that popular courses among the undergraduate business students in Malaysia are accounting, finance, marketing, human resources and entrepreneurial development (Fairco Online, 2000). Otherthan entrepreneurship programs, most Malaysian universities own entrepreneurial development courses and entrepreneurship-related clubs and societies. Incubator centers to encourage the development of entrepreneurship among graduates are available in some universities and colleges. Consultancy services on entrepreneurial development are also available to assist students in developing their entrepreneurial skills. It is intended to accomplish this by using the Technology Acceptance Model together with a few empirical inputs as extension. Questionnaire was used collect data from 357 academics working in 15 national universities that are under the purview of the University Grants Commission. A systematic, proportionate, stratified sampling technique was applied to represent all universities and various categories of staff. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) version 23 were used to analyse the data. Through Structural Equation Modelling, the model fit was tested and the associations between variables were examined through path analysis. This study‟s results show that perceived usefulness, subjective norm and computer self-efficacy have positive associations with behavioural intention whilst perceived ease of use and university support did not have associations. Behavioural intention is positively associated with actual usage. These findings suggest that usefulness of system, computer selfefficacy of academics, and the normative factor influence the actual usage of the VLE. Gender moderates the relationship between behavioural intention and perceived ease of use, subjective norm and computer selfefficacy.

And this study carried out Structural Equation Modeling to assess model fit and through path analysis, the association between variables was investigated. The study resulted that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, compatibility, attitude, behavioural intentions and actual behaviour met the indices for model fit. The findings showed perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use associated with attitude while compatibility is not. Attitude significantly and positively associated with behavioural intention. While behavioural intention positively associated with the actual usage this mediates the relationship between attitude and actual behaviour. The e-learning usage of academicians will help to enhance the quality of higher education system in Sri Lanka as well as to magnify the number of university intake as the country seeks to achieve its vision to be "the knowledge hub in the region and a leader in higher education in Asia by 2020". Though the e-learning adoption studies are growing trend of education and system researchers as evidenced by extant literature, studies on attitude and intention of academicians especially in an emerging economy like Sri Lanka is still lacking. This study attempts to establish the attitudinal factors that contributes actual e-learning behavior of academicians.

Most of the researchers were interested in identifying successful entrepreneurs, specifically on the traits and behaviors. With the governments across various countries create policy and measures in creating entrepreneurs, this further adds to the importance of research in the entrepreneurial area. This research attempts to identify potential entrepreneurs among business undergraduates in Malaysia. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior and the personal values associated with an entrepreneur, the research conducted an identity matching. Thus, the influencing factors are determined. The findings of the research revealed that components of Theory of Planned Behavior, which consists ofsubjective norm, attitude towards behavior and perceived behavioral control, are factors that influence entrepreneurial career. Demographics characteristics such as gender and parents occupational background have influence too. The findings inform to ensure quality entrepreneurs are produced, and concentration should target at these influencing factors. INTRODUCTION Entrepreneurs play an integral part in today's economy. According to Association of University Technology Managers (2001), entrepreneurship accounts for 70% of all new jobs and is a crucial topic for the 21st century. Countries such as Brazil, Korea and United States lead the world in entrepreneurial activities. Similarly, countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan largely owed their substantial growth to entrepreneurial activities . Over the past 35 years, they have transformed themselves from being technologically backward and poor into modern prosperous economies. In Malaysia, entrepreneurship has undergone a period of rapid growth in the last 1 0 to 1 5 years . It is acknowledged to be a critical area that provides the support on the process of economic development in achieving a developed nation status . The Ministry of Entrepreneurial Development has set the objective to generate and develop entrepreneurs who are resilient, successful and competitive in all the potential growth sectors of the economy. Another agency, the Small and Medium Industries Corporation (SMIDEC) was established in 1 996 to produce capable Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) that can compete in the liberalized market. The establishment of SMIDEC was in recognition of the need for a specialized agency to further promote the development of SMIs. Among the areas of assistance are through advisory service, fiscal and financial assistance, infrastructure facilities and other support programs. One of the sources identified by the Malaysian government in promoting and creating entrepreneurs are university graduates. Graduates are considered valuables resources that will affect the quality of the future society. Furthermore, they play critical roles in assuring the continued development of the economy of a country. Among the steps the government has introduced is training scheme for graduates who are interested in venturing into entrepreneurship. At present, most Malaysian universities offer courses in business, which also includes entrepreneurship. Surveys indicated that popular courses among the undergraduate business students in Malaysia are accounting, finance, marketing, human resources and entrepreneurial development (Fairco Online, 2000). Otherthan entrepreneurship programs, most Malaysian universities own entrepreneurial development courses and entrepreneurship-related clubs and societies. Incubator centers to encourage the development of entrepreneurship among graduates are available in some universities and colleges. Consultancy services on entrepreneurial development are also available to assist students in developing their entrepreneurial skills. It is intended to accomplish this by using the Technology Acceptance Model together with a few empirical inputs as extension. Questionnaire was used collect data from 357 academics working in 15 national universities that are under the purview of the University Grants Commission. A systematic, proportionate, stratified sampling technique was applied to represent all universities and various categories of staff. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) version 23 were used to analyse the data. Through Structural Equation Modelling, the model fit was tested and the associations between variables were examined through path analysis. This study‟s results show that perceived usefulness, subjective norm and computer self-efficacy have positive associations with behavioural intention whilst perceived ease of use and university support did not have associations. Behavioural intention is positively associated with actual usage. These findings suggest that usefulness of system, computer selfefficacy of academics, and the normative factor influence the actual usage of the VLE. Gender moderates the relationship between behavioural intention and perceived ease of use, subjective norm and computer selfefficacy.

This study was conducted in two districts in the plantation areas of Sri Lanka. A total of 702 students who were selected randomly responded to a questionnaire. Three hypotheses which were tested using correlational analyses revealed that there was a statistically significant relationship between family-related factors and academic performance of students. The finding leads to important implications to promote education of children in the plantation sector.

This study was conducted in two districts in the plantation areas of Sri Lanka. A total of 701 students who were selected randomly responded to a questionnaire. Hypotheses were formulated and tested using One-Way ANOVA test. The results revealed that there was statistically significant relationship between parents’ educational qualifications and the academic performance of students.
