They are especially important in the border regions of the country. Scientific analysis of ways and mechanisms of harmonization of interethnic relations is of great importance for maintaining the socio-political, economic stability of modern society, as well as social harmony in the region. The following indicators are considered: the specifics of national identity (the degree of closeness with people of the same nationality, the risk of dissolving into the culture of other peoples); changes in interethnic relations in the region over the past five years; access to public benefits for people of different nationalities (receiving guaranteed social, medical, educational services, chances of employment, developing their business, holding high positions in government); attitudes towards migrants and the migration situation in general (the region's residents' assessments of m...

We examined risk factors for syphilis infection among injection drug users in 3 Russian Federation cities, focusing particular attention on the potential roles of gender and sex work. Methods. We conducted a cross-sectional survey of injection drug users in Moscow, Volgograd, and Barnaul, collecting behavioral data and testing for antibodies to Treponema pallidum. Associations between presence of antibodies to T pallidum and covariates were explored. Results. Overall, the prevalence of antibodies to T pallidum was 11% (95% confidence interval=9.7%, 13.1%). Syphilis was associated with involvement in sex work and with gender in Moscow and Barnaul but not in Volgograd. Female injection drug users not involved in sex work were more likely than men to be younger and to have recently begun to inject; female injection drug users involved in sex work were more likely than those not involved in sex work to inject daily. The high-mountain areas of Russia including areas of the Altai Republic are characterized by inte... more The high-mountain areas of Russia including areas of the Altai Republic are characterized by intense climate change, the consequences of which in the long term will have a tangible impact on their socio-economic development, the level of security and well-being of the population. The article presents the results of sociological surveys of the population in six settlements of Kosh-Agachsky and Ulagansky districts of the Altai Republic, located near the centers of dangerous exogenous processes (n = 403), which allowed to describe the perception of climate threats and to articulate the risks that are of greater concern to residents and affect the preservation of their traditional way of life and ways of doing business.

The article presents the results of the study of civil and ethnic identities and the sphere of in... more The article presents the results of the study of civil and ethnic identities and the sphere of interethnic relations in eight Russian regions located near the state borders: the Altai region, Amur region, Jewish Autonomous region, Trans-Baikal region, Kemerovo region, Omsk region, Orenburg region, and the Altai Republic. The authors conducted a survey to gather empirical data and identify the priority of civic identity for the residents of border regions of Russia, and the dominant grounds of civil and ethnic identities. The results of the survey show significant regional differences in the level of different identities manifestation: the highest degree of identification with the civil and ethnic communities is typical for the Kemerovo region, the lowest - for the Trans-Baikal region. Целью данной статьи является исследование жизненных перспектив и ценностных ориентаций молодежи,... more Целью данной статьи является исследование жизненных перспектив и ценностных ориентаций молодежи, проживающей в Республике Тыва, в сравнении с показателями молодежи других регионов Сибирского федерального округа. Проблема рассматривается в контексте обсуждения духовной безопасности как интегрального состояния общественного сознания и функционирования общественных институтов, которые обеспечивают удовлетворение культурных и духовных потребностей общества. Анализируются результаты социологического исследования (опроса на основе структурированного онлайн-интервью) 2022 г., которое охватывало десять регионов Сибирского федерального округа, включая Республику Тыва. Объем выборочной совокупности составил 5 000 человек (n = 500 в каждом регионе, население в возрасте от 14 до 35 лет). The purpose of this paper is to assess the social mood of migrants in the border regions of the R... more The purpose of this paper is to assess the social mood of migrants in the border regions of the Russian Federation, their subjective feelings of being safe in the host community, as well as overall satisfaction with various aspects of life in Russia. The empirical basis of the presented research consists of the results of a study conducted on the basis of a semi-formalized interview (2018) among migrants in five border regions of the Russian Federation. According to the research framework, indicators of migrants' satisfaction with various aspects of life are examined, namely "life in Russia," "work," "earnings," "relationships with colleagues and superiors," "relationships with family and relatives," "support coming from a religious community," "support coming from a national association," "communication with fellow countrymen," and "health."

An index of positive economic effect from the presence of foreign specialists in the border regions of Russia was built. Also, the regions were ranked according to the population's assessments.

Образ страны, государства, наряду с образами народа, нации, выступает одним из важнейших элементо... more Образ страны, государства, наряду с образами народа, нации, выступает одним из важнейших элементов оформления и функционирования гражданской идентичности, играя роль идентификационного референта, с которым сопоставляются мысли и переживания, установки и жизненные устремления граждан. Это сложный социальный конструкт, формируемый и изменяемый под влиянием множества различных сил-политического, социального и культурного характера, анализ его содержания необходим как из научных соображений, так и практической необходимости, в том числе связанной с оценкой эффективности социальных институтов, ответственных за формирование национального самосознания, гражданственности, патриотизма. Статья основывается на результатах анализа научной литературы и проведенных в четырех регионах России (Алтайском и Хабаровском краях, Калининградской и Воронежской областях) психосематических исследованиях, направленных на реконструкцию и описание пяти образов России: «имперской России», «советской России», «России настоящего», «России в будущем» и «идеальной России». Авторы вычленяют базовые характеристики, присущие каждому образу, и исследуют основания для их дифференциации. Отдельное направление анализа связано с выявлением межпоколенческих различий в восприятии образов, которые, как заключают авторы, не являются непреодолимыми, а отражают ожидания и предпочтения в ориентирах и приоритетах развития.
