Existing World Wide Web (WWW) security is organized around server specific realms. When several s... more Existing World Wide Web (WWW) security is organized around server specific realms. When several servers are interacted with in a secure manner, authentication information has to be provided for each server. Where separate servers cooperate to provide a set of distributed information as a server group, it is desirable to make authentication as transparent as possible. By extending the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to include server group information it is possible for a user to only provide authentication information once for an entire group of servers. Although we have also implemented these extensions for the Basic and Digest Authentication schemes, we argue that Mediated Digest Authentication is most suitable for secure server group scalability.

Im Gegensatz zu dem bisher bekannten Verfahren, das eine reelle Zahl durch eine im zugrundegelegten rationalen Zahlensystem benachbarte kleinere oder größere rationale Zahl approximiert, bildet der hier vorgestellte Algorithmus die reelle Zahl in den meisten Fällen auf den ihr näher gelegenen rationalen Nachbarn ab.AbstractA rounding algorithm is described that maps real numbers into a rational number system, whose elements are represented as the quotient of two finite range integers. Contrarily to the common method to approximate a real number through either its immediate smaller or larger rational neighbour, the algorithm as it is presented here will map in most cases the real number to the closer one of these two neighbours.

Zwingende Voraussetzung dafür war die Verbreitung von Breitband-Internetverbindungen. Denn nur dank diesen Verbindungen macht es für den Nutzer kaum noch einen Unterschied, ob Daten oder Dienste lokal auf dem eigenen Rechner oder irgendwo auf entfernten Maschinen und Anwendungen mittels einer allegorischen «Wolke» verfügbar sind. In der vorliegenden Publikation stellen wir Ihnen anhand von vier Fallbeispielen verschiedene Szenarien vor, in welchen Cloud-Lösungen auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise erfolgreich eingeführt wurden. Das Beispiel der Universität Bari zeigt, dass Cloud-Lösungen von Hochschulen auch Private einschliessen und so lokale Kleinunternehmen unterstützen können.
