Metastatic triple negative breast cancer (mTNBC) is a difficult task for the chemotherapist in vi... more Metastatic triple negative breast cancer (mTNBC) is a difficult task for the chemotherapist in view of the disease aggressiveness, biological heterogeneity of the tumor, as well as the limit of therapy options. The approved modern drugs, such as immunotherapy and PARP inhibitors, have improved the treatment results in women with mTNBC. However, not all women are the candidates for this kind of therapy due to the lack of suitable points of application. In this context, high hopes are placed on the new treatment options currently being studied in clinical trials. The review summarizes data on advanced drugs that have demonstrated their efficacy in this multiplex group of women, but not yet registered at the territory of the Russian Federation Russian Federation, and will allow us to form an idea of the future algorithm of treatment of women with mTNBC.

Background: Noise is one of the environmental factors, which is considered as a powerful stressor... more Background: Noise is one of the environmental factors, which is considered as a powerful stressor for the organism. Generally, the acoustic stress affects the behavior and physiological state of humans and animals. Aims: The goal of this study is to investigate the relationship between chronic noise exposure and the effects of adrenergic alpha-2 receptor antagonists, beditin and mesedin, on the anxiety and oxidation of plasma proteins and fibrinogen in rats. Methods: The experiments were carried out on non-linear albino male rats, divided into four groups (six animals in each): 1. Healthy controls 2. Exposed to noise of a level 91 dB(A), eight hours daily, during 7, 30 and 60 days; 3. Injected with 2 mg/kg of beditin (2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)-1,4-benzodioxane hydrochloride)); 4. Injected with 10 mg/kg mesedin (2-(2-methyl-amino-thiozolyl)-1,4-benzodioxane hydrochloride). For evaluating the cognitive impairment, the Any-maze test was applied. The level of carbonylation of proteins was assessed by reaction with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine, spectrophotometrically. Results: Chronic noise decreased locomotor activity and increased anxiety and oxidation of plasma protein and fibrinogen. Intensity of these changes were dependent on the duration of noise exposure. Conclusion: The Alpha 2 adrenoblockers alleviate oxidative modification of plasma proteins and reduce the cognitive impairment caused by chronic exposure to noise.

Two case histories are reported here in which a chemotherapeutic approach improved the clinical c... more Two case histories are reported here in which a chemotherapeutic approach improved the clinical conditions of patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. Until recently, chemotherapy was considered ineffective in pancreatic cancer, and most oncologists treated these patients with best-supportive-care only. Enthusiasm for systemic therapy of advanced pancreatic cancer is again growing, spurred by the advent of new drugs and new treatment endpoints such as life quality and symptom palliation. Gemcitabine, the most intensively-investigated new drug in pancreatic cancer, has shown an advantage in both survival and clinical benefit over that of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). Other new drugs such as taxanes have shown interesting levels of activity, and are deserving of further evaluation. Although these results are far from conclusive and are only partially satisfactory, they represent a significant step forward in the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer.
