The work is based on a reflective analysis of the development of adult education and training over time, its different contexts and practices, the perspectives in which the methodologies for recognition of acquired experience are based and the professional role of the RVC trainer. We tried to make a reflexive swing on the practice of intervening in the New Opportunities Centre which gave rise to the construction of an intervention project aimed at changing the methodology adopted in the basic level of the RVCC process. The project had as main objectives: the distinction and recognition of further training in order to improve the assessment of competences and the increase in adult awareness of their competences and of the areas where they need training to achieve their goals; make the process more effective in terms of monetization and optimization of human resources (trainers) and the duration of the process and speed up the diagnosis of further training needs. In order to achieve these goals the number of sessions for the recognition of the four key areas of expertise and the mediation instruments used in collective sessions have changed. This amendment has been effective in achieving the proposed objectives.
