The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' experiences about school-based supervision... more The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' experiences about school-based supervision practices through metaphorical expressions. In the study, a descriptive case study approach, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. In sample selection, the maximum diversity sampling technique, a purposive sampling method, used and 38 teachers working in primary school (N=19) and secondary school (N=19) were participated in the study. "Scenario drafts" representing 4 supervision styles based on "School-Based Supervision Approaches Scale" developed by İş and Summak (2021) were used as a data collection tool in the study. The main purpose of the scenarios is to express the atmosphere of the supervision that takes place in the classroom through the eyes of an "outsider storyteller". The data was obtained through the scenario forms including expressions "The supervisory approach of the principal in the scenario is like…. Because: …". Descriptive analysis and content analysis techniques were used in the analysis of the data. The findings showed that the metaphors used by the participants regarding the supervisory approaches of the school principals were grouped under different categories in terms of their common characteristics. The results revealed that teachers' perceptions of supervisory approaches used by principals were generally negative. Based on the data patterns obtained from the "School-Based Supervision Approaches Scale", the participants used 130 metaphors using the "scenario drafts" representing the four supervision styles. It was found that 77% of the metaphors had negative and 23% positive meanings. The perception that school principals did not have the competency to make professional and objective evaluations in the supervision process and that they were inadequate in terms of communication and content knowledge were highlighted by the participants. As a result, it was concluded that when school principals have competencies to make a professional and objective evaluation, teachers will be eager to be supervised and have a positive perception to the school principals having a supervisor role.

This paper aims at determining the technology integration level of vocational K-12 teachers and e... more This paper aims at determining the technology integration level of vocational K-12 teachers and effects of gender and age on teachers' technology integration level. Quantitative descriptive research method was used. Data were collected through Levels of the Technology Implementation (LoTI) questionnaire, which assesses three dimensions: Level of Technology Implementation (LoTI), Personal Computer Use (PCU) and Current Instructional Practices (CIP). Participants of the study were 232 vocational K-12 teachers. This study revealed that participant teachers had higher LoTI, PCU and CIP Levels. This study also showed that there was a significant difference between gender in LoTI and PCU scores. Male teachers' LoTI and PCU scores were higher than female ones. And also, a significant difference was found between age and teachers PCU scores. Younger teachers had higher PCU scores than their older counterparts. Some suggestions and recommendations were given in the light of the research findings.

Calisma Gaziantep ilinde 62 okuldaki 373 mudur ve mudur yardimcisi ile gerceklestirilmistir. Calismada okul yoneticileri genel olarak e-okula iliskin olumlu gorus bildirmislerdir. Anahtar Kelimeler : e-okul, Genisletilmis Teknoloji Kabul Modeli, TAM2, okul yoneticisi, degerlendirme ASSESSMENT OF E-OKUL APPLICATION BY SCHOOL MANAGERS USING EXTENDED TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE MODEL Abstract This study aimed to evaluate “e-okul” system based on Extented Technology Acceptance Model (TAM2) by school principals and school vice-principals. Participants of the study were 373 in 62 schools in the province of Gaziantep. The participants reported favourable attitudes toward e-okul. There were some significant interactions in dimensions of TAM2 in terms of age and gender. In gender variable, there were significant interaction between gender and Perceived Usefulness, and gender and Job Relevance. Furthermore, there were significant differences between age and Perceived Usefulness, age and Perceived Ease of Use, and age and Result Demonstrability. Male school vice/principals had more positive perceptions to usefulness and job relevance of e-okul than females did. And, younger school vice/principals generally had more positive perceptions to uselfulness, ease of use and result demostrability of e-okul. The aim of this study is to serve as a self-transformative process targeting undergraduate studen... more The aim of this study is to serve as a self-transformative process targeting undergraduate students' professional perspectives, sayings, doings and meaning makings on the conventional classroom management thought by introducing them to the possibilities of Web 3.0 technologies. The study was designed as a critical participatory action research (CPAR) and conducted with the participation of 46 undergraduate students (29 female, 17 male) from English Language Teaching department during the first term of 2019-2020 academic year (just before the COVID-19 closures) in Gaziantep University. To guide participants, a Video Clip Assessment Rubric was developed collaboratively. Critical self-reflections and inclass discussions were the sources of data. A great majority of the participants reflected that flipped learning could be a promising alternative over conventional pedagogies. They also declared the need for a comprehensive preparation and professional guidance in video clip casting for flipped classes. The most outstanding actionable knowledge, on the part of participants, produced by this CPAR would be the internal transformation enabled through reinterpretation of the facts and first hand learning experiences they encountered. Some further suggestions are made for the redesign of conventional classroom management courses at undergraduate level.

Çalışma, Gaziantep ilindeki 15 mesleki ve teknik eğitim kurumunda görev yapan 232 öğretmeni kapsamaktadır. Araştırma verileri Teknoloji Uygulama Düzeyi anketi ile toplanmış, verilerin analizi için ise standart çoklu regresyon analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; öğretmenlerin kişisel bilgisayar kullanımları ve öğretim yaklaşımları onların derslerinde teknoloji kullanımlarını etkilemektedir. Öğretmenlerin derslerinde teknoloji kullanımlarının, %58 gibi önemli bir kısmı, onların kişisel bilgisayar kullanım becerilerine ve öğretim yaklaşımlarına bağlıdır.

Çalışma, Gaziantep ilindeki 15 mesleki ve teknik eğitim kurumunda görev yapan 232 öğretmeni kapsamaktadır. The purpose of the study was to investigate middle school teachers’ perceptions of the effects of... more The purpose of the study was to investigate middle school teachers’ perceptions of the effects of a teacher-targeted intervention, that is, Psychological Capital Development Training Intervention (PCDTI), aiming at enhancing positive psychological capacities of teachers. The PCDTI was prepared and implemented by the researchers at a state university in a large city in Turkey during the academic year of 2014-2015. The implementation of the PCDTI lasted for 2 months, once in a week, and after completing the training intervention, interviews were conducted with twelve teachers who were the participants in the experimental group. Data were gathered through one-on-one interviews and were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The participants stated that the PCDTI had some positive effects in terms of their personal and professional awareness and development. The purpose of the present study was to assess change recipients' perceptions of 4+4+4 reform ini... more The purpose of the present study was to assess change recipients' perceptions of 4+4+4 reform initiative put in effect in Turkish education system and to explore if anything has changed within the one-year interval. This research is a qualitative longitudinal case study conducted in 2013 and 2014 in a large city in Southeastern Turkey. Pragmatist paradigm has been the guiding research philosophy. The study group consisted of 106 teachers, 64 school administrators, and 4 educational supervisors. The study group was chosen via purposive sampling technique. Data were gathered through structured interview protocol consisting of four open-ended questions. Findings indicated that the favorable and unfavorable aspects of the reform regarded as positive were mostly remained unchanged in the one-year interval. Some of the problems remained the same. Finally, it was revealed that the participants' expectations about the future of the system varied in terms of potential effects of the reform initiative. Based on the findings, suggestions for the implementers and policy makers were offered.
