The Unified Enterprise Modelling Language (UEML) aims to support precise semantic definition of a... more The Unified Enterprise Modelling Language (UEML) aims to support precise semantic definition of a wide variety of enterprise-and IS-modelling languages. In the longer run, it is also intended as a hub for integrated use of enterprise and information system (IS) models expressed in different languages. To achieve this, UEML provides a common ontology that interrelates the semantics of many existing modelling languages. This paper presents the motivation and background for the UEML work. It then presents the structure and contents of UEML's evolving common ontology, the Unified Enterprise Modelling Ontology (UEMO), which has been established through analyses of 130 modelling constructs from a selection of 10 enterprise-and IS-modelling languages. It goes on to discuss the current state of UEMO and its further evolution. Finally, conclusions and paths for further work are offered.
The Web is a huge container of digital resources, that is, sets of objects that are accessible an... more The Web is a huge container of digital resources, that is, sets of objects that are accessible and manageable by a computer. When dealing with structured queries (rather than with flat list of keywords), model matchmaking is a fundamental task in the digital resource discovery process. This paper presents MAGDA (MApping Generic Discovery Architecture), a reference architecture designed to implement different matchmaking algorithms aimed at defining mappings between digital resource models. The basic conceptual structures of MAGDA are described: a labeled oriented multigraph as reference model, model mappings, generic matchmakers and matchmaking techniques. Finally, MAGDA is used to support the definition and use of three different discovery solutions.

Cette base représente un outil d'aide à la description et à l'analyse des compétences de l'entreprise. Elle aide également à la décision des nouveaux investissements en simulant l'adéquation des compétences nécessaires et disponibles dans un périmètre donné. Dans cette intervention, le contexte et l'objectif du développement de la base de compétences sont présentés. Ensuite, nous exposons sa structure de base de données relationnelle. Ses fonctionnalités sont présentées en troisième partie avant de conclure.

Dierent semantic measures have been proposed in the literature to evaluate the strength of the semantic link between two concepts or two groups of concepts from either two dierent ontologies (ontology alignment) or the same ontology. This article presents an o-context study of eight semantic measures based on an ontology restricted to subsomption links. We first present some common principles, and then propose a comparative study based on a set of semantic and theoretical criteria.
