To explore these factors, this study had conducted a survey among the Bangladeshi consumers’. The data analysis was conducted through exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling to test the hypotheses. Among the four variables, individual personalities and economic conditions are the most significant followed by social influences and pricing of pirated products. The outcome of this research showed a comprehensively integrated framework for policy maker and business enterprise to understand the dynamic relationships among dimensions of social influence, pricing, economy, and personality to understand the consumers’ perception toward purchasing pirated products. Further research is needed to examine these factors with additional samples before generalization can be made.

The study utilizes a combination of theoretical frameworks and quantitative techniques o testify the statistical relationships between consumer perceptions on e-banking transaction. Meanwhile factor analysis was performed to extraction and make initial decision on the number of factors underlying asset of measured variables of interest. Thereafter structural equation mode (SEM) was estimated to anticipate the effects of the explanatory variables. This study shows that only protected transaction, have significant impact on consumers’ perception about e-banking security, followed by service quality and regulatory frame work issues. This study is the first that seeks to ascertain the insight into e-banking in Malaysia, which has not been previously been investigated and much statistical significance makes this study a potential cornerstone for f...

Exploring critical factors influencing tourists’ perception in selection of destination: structural equation modelling approach on Bangladeshi market

The specific objectives of the study are: to identify and asses the factors that are influencing tourists in selecting destination; to find out the relationship between those factors and the consumers perception; to offer some recommendation for better marketing strategy to attract more tourists. In this study primary data had collected through distribution of questionnaires to the visitors on important tourists spot. Data from 180 completed questionnaires were analyzed quantitatively by variety of statistical techniques, including factor analysis and structural equation modeling to investigate the relationship among the variables. Three important factors like destination brand image, internet adoption, and customers' satisfaction are identified of the selection of destination by a traveler. The results of the structural equation modeling reflected that internet adoption and customers satisfaction played a significant role that are influencing tourist's perception in selection of destination for travelling. The survey was conducted only for one month's (December'09), which permitted only winter tourists to be surveyed. Thus, most of the respondents were winter tourists not representative of year round tourism. Only few dimensions were analyzed in this study, so further research can be done by using factors such as socio cultural, outdoor activities, Income, cultural distance with larger sample size. The overall conclusions and discussion of the findings should provide a framework for the practical planning and implementation of planning strategies in the tourism context.

In some areas, they are ethical and in some areas they are not. Despite this type of mixed attitude towards business ethics, it can be said from the findings that in time, ethical trend will change in small organizations as it did in larger organizations. In this study, the consideration and future trend of business ethics are studied using fifty small organizations in Dhaka city in Bangladesh. Results indicate that small organizations demonstrate little or no interest in business ethics. However, their assumptions about the future trend of business ethics are enthusiastic. The study also implies that the status of business ethics in small organizations is not very satisfactory but promising and in the near future, small organizations are likely to comply with business ethics in their organizational activities. This article attempts to find out the current status of ethics and ethical standards in small organizations, especially in Dhaka city in Bangladesh.

The other purpose is to empirically test the hypothesized relationship of the research framework. This study also highlighted some propositions to guide future empirical research.Design/methodology/approachThe survey instrument was administered on 250 employees. This paper develops a measure for exploring the organizational politics on employees' performances included with employees' commitment as a mediating variable. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was used to extract and test the key influential attributes on the basis of data of total samples respectively. Structural equation model was also used to define the structure of influencing attributes and to measure the degree of impact for each attribute on the employees' performances.FindingsThe result shows that the organizational politics affect most significantly towards...

In strict keeping with Jaynes' original definition, our precise formulation of the problem considers contributions only from the smoothness of the estimated distribution (as measured by its entropy) and the loss functional associated with its goodness-of-fit to the sample data, and in particular does not make use of any additional constraints that cannot be justified from the sample data alone. By mapping the general multivariate problem to a tractable univariate one, we are able to write down exact expressions for the goodness-of-fit of an arbitrary multivariate distribution to any given set of samples using both the traditional likelihood-based approach and a rigorous information-theoretic approach, thus solving a long-standing problem. As a corollary we also give an exact solution to the 'forward problem' of determining the expected distributions of samples taken from a population with known probability distribution.
