Advances in the early detection of cancer and the development of more effective treatments have r... more Advances in the early detection of cancer and the development of more effective treatments have resulted in a larger number of adolescents and young adults (AYAs), becoming cancer survivors. However, knowledge regarding their needs and if those needs are adequately addressed remains limited. The aims of this study were to: (1) better understand the needs of AYAs after cancer treatment; (2) analyse the importance of those needs; (3) determine which needs are not adequately addressed; and (4) test the hypothesis that AYA cancer survivors have different needs than adult survivors. Twenty-nine health oncology professionals, 17 AYA survivors and 12 relatives of AYA survivors participated in the Delphi study. The needs identified could be classified into six categories, and all were rated as highly important by all participants. Support for the Spanish version of the CPAQ‐8 as a measure of chronic pain acceptance

Aim and objective: To provide evidence regarding the psychometric properties of the Spanish eight... more Aim and objective: To provide evidence regarding the psychometric properties of the Spanish eight-item version of the Chronic Pain Acceptance Questionnaire (CPAQ-8). Method: Three hundred adults with chronic pain completed measures of pain acceptance, committed action, fear of movement, anxiety, depression, and healthrelated quality of life. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) of the CPAQ-8 was performed. Reliability and validity were also evaluated. Results: The CFA confirmed a two-factor structure. The CPAQ-8 Total and subscale scores showed acceptable-to-good internal consistency. Furthermore, the Total and the Activity Engagement scale scores showed moderate associations with Committed Action scores, supporting construct validity. Both the Total and the two subscale scores showed good criterion validity. Conclusion: The findings provide further support for the reliability and validity of the Spanish version of the CPAQ-8 Total and subscale scores. KEYWORDS assessment, chronic pain, CPAQ-8, pain acceptance, psychometric properties 1 | INTRODUCTION Chronic pain is a public health problem worldwide 1 that is known to have a significant negative impact on a variety of personal and social domains (eg, physical and mental functioning and social activities). 2,3 Research supports a key role for psychological factors with respect to how people deal with pain and its impact. 4 Specifically, cognitive and emotional factors (eg, the belief that pain means harm and being in a depressive state) have been found to be associated positively with pain intensity and disability as well as with the transition from acute to chronic pain. 5-7 Psychological treatments for chronic pain aim to reduce psychological distress associated with pain and to promote engagement with valued activities. 8,9 One psychosocial treatment that has been receiving increased research attention in the chronic pain field is acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). 10 Research has shown increasing evidence supporting the beneficial effects of ACT on function in individuals with chronic pain. 11,12 The ACT theoretical framework is based on the psychological flexibility (PF) model. PF has been defined as the capacity of a person to persist in behaviours in a way that "(1) includes conscious and open contact with thoughts and feelings, (2) appreciates what the situation affords, and (3) serves one's goals and values." 13 PF
