This project started as a requirement from General Motors Ecuador, with the purpose of understand... more This project started as a requirement from General Motors Ecuador, with the purpose of understanding the administrative processes of PROAUTO C.A.´s job shop. Once all processes were understood and diagramed, the critical process was identified, which was the "Preventive Maintenance of the Main Job Shop". Consequently, by the use of simulation, the bottleneck of the process was the "Washing Area". In order to improve this process, it was necessary the use of some engineering tools such as: Six Sigma, 5´s, FIFO and the standardization of the processes of washing and drying. After all this analysis, three proposals were suggested to the company with the goal of optimizing the "Washing Area". Each of the proposals, were study within five different scenarios to observe the behavior of the process. The best proposal, takes into consideration the standardization of the process, the FIFO system and the use of the Karcher washing and vacuum cleaner machines. Same wise, the best scenario chosen, was the one that restrained the reception of vehicles until 11:30 am. Finally, the cost of the investment was calculated, same as the customer satisfaction. vii TABLA DE CO TE IDOS Pág.
