Verbs-part of speech that expresses action See, verbs are the ones who express the actions of nouns and pronouns. Isn't it nice to have something do things for you? Okay. Let's see some examples of verbs. The dog eats its food. The boy plays toys everyday. Jose loves bananas. Ed likes to watch television. As you can see, there are some words highlighted in the examples. As you might have guessed, those words are verbs. Be Verbs Read the paragraph very well. Pay attention to the underlined words. See how these words are used in the story. My name is Sonny. I am six years old. I have a brother named Paul. He is a grade 4 pupil. my sisters are Isaa and Paula. They are older than I am. My mother, Anna, is a teacher. My father, Greg, is an engineer. We work and play together, We are a happy family. The verb am is used with the pronoun I.
