In diverse città europee -e più sporadicamente anche in Italia -nel mezzo di un qualsiasi percors... more In diverse città europee -e più sporadicamente anche in Italia -nel mezzo di un qualsiasi percorso urbano può capitare di incrociare gruppi di traceur, persone che praticano il parkour. O meglio, sono i traceur a tagliare i sentieri u ciali del cittadino attraversando il panorama urbano con un movimento che incarna logiche antagoniste rispetto alle routine di mobilità. A questo proposito Sennett (1976) ci ricordava come lo spettatore disembodied e il cittadino disempowered fossero strettamente legati attraverso l' oggettivazione delle loro relazioni nello spazio della città -nelle sue strutture siche come in quelle intellettuali di potere. Questa relazione perde la sua prevedibilità quando il parkour le attraversa la strada. Inizialmente de nito come art du déplacement, quindi simulazione della fuga, il parkour è una disciplina sica metropolitana che consiste nel superare qualsiasi ostacolo materiale alla continuità del usso di free running attraverso salti, corse e capriole. Lo scopo è spostarsi nel modo più e ciente possibile, ma la logica che de nisce questa particolare concezione di e cienza si distanzia da quella depositata nel senso comune del cittadino. Per i traceur l' e cienza dello spostamento coincide infatti con la ricerca del modo più veloce, semplice e sicuro -e come si vedrà anche le de nizioni "tradizionali" di sicurezza e semplicità vengono revisionate in questo ambito -di collegamento tra due punti della città (il percorso più breve tra due punti). Il parkour nasce nelle banlieue parigine e attraverso la rete si di onde rapidamente in diverse periferie metropolitane per divenire recentemente anche una disciplina sportiva u cializzata e commercializzata, che tuttavia sopravvive anche come pratica urbana presente in luoghi speci ci ma di usi in tutta la città. Diversi autori ricostruiscono il processo di de nizione della disciplina sica del parkour individuando in David Bell, Sebastien Foucan e i suburbi parigini di ne anni Ottanta i protagonisti di un movimento che, in un trentennio, si di onderà in tutto il mondo, nendo anche inevitabilmente per dividersi tra componenti radicali e derivazioni spettacolarizzate. Nell'ideologia dei pionieri del parkour ltrano -anche per questioni biogra che, il padre di Bell è un ex militare e vigile del fuoco -gli echi del "metodo naturale" di addestramento dei militari francesi de nito da Hebert, oltre alle in uenze di matrice rousseuiana. La fusione del movimento nell'ambiente, la valorizzazione della costruzione del corpo naturale del buon selvaggio, il ri uto delle logiche agonistiche degli sport olimpici, il mantra della ripetizione dell' esercizio come forma di superamento del pensiero limitante addomesticato da paura e percezione del rischio, sono tutti elementi che i primi traceur ricollocano in ambito urbano revisionando le pratiche di spostamento al suo interno. Covid-19 has shed light on the Sino-Italian communities, usually perceived as a "minority mo... more Covid-19 has shed light on the Sino-Italian communities, usually perceived as a "minority model", based on their being considered as integrated, hard-working and silent. The media narratives about the relation between the spreading of the virus and the consumption of food framed as "disgusting" have neutralised the color-blindness usually applied to Asian migrants in Italy. The latent racism has been reinforced by a process of distinction focused on the disgust for an "abject" food. The reframing of the Sino-Italians as folk devils through the spread of gastro-panic has yet triggered processes of subjectivation, pushing them to make their voices heard on a public level. By the standpoint of 12 "Asian" restaurant owners in the city of Genoa, we explore the frame in which such dynamics have unfolded.

The formats of makeover and lifestyle television are an evolution of the reality television genre... more The formats of makeover and lifestyle television are an evolution of the reality television genre. The function of this type of format is to give instructions and examples that are functional to correct lifestyles. Through their “diagnostic eye” experts, who are the protagonists of these programmes, supply advice and knowledge about every sphere of life. In makeover programmes in comparison to lifestyle ones, the process of transformation to which the participant is submitted and of which the spectator becomes witness is more accentuated. The makeover format, above all when it concerns transformation of overweight bodies, puts the transformation of the Self on show. For this reason, in certain literature, makeover shows may be seen as technologies of the Self. In this paper two makeover television programmes will be analysed that deal with overweight adolescents and their families. The aim is to track down and analyse the discursive repertoires around the work on bodies and on their boundaries as a repair of the identity disorders of adolescents

This paper shows how girls and women who practise parkour cross the gendered divisions of space, ... more This paper shows how girls and women who practise parkour cross the gendered divisions of space, sport and other symbolic territories that are brought into play by so-called risk-taking sports, and how it may therefore be considered a subversive action. The strategies of negotiation produced by such symbolic crossings are examined via the concepts of reproductive and resistant agency and of gender manoeuvring. In particular the concept of gender manoeuvring will be used to examine the mechanisms of inter- and intra-gender inclusion and exclusion which, within subcultures, pass through a recognition of authenticity. Indeed, in the culture of parkour the question of authenticity emerges when media dissemination produces a split into two distinct practices:art du déplacementand freerunning. Thetraceusescross this boundary because of their different origin (they are from the streets as opposed to the gym), thereby building within their gender further discourses on authenticity.

After a long time during which the public discussion on it was socially banned, the issue of canc... more After a long time during which the public discussion on it was socially banned, the issue of cancer finally found some places for its social representation. Such a space was initially opened up by some celebrities. The so-called pathographies were in the beginning mostly diary-shaped, while they developed later in multiple expression forms, ranging from videos on YouTube to blogs. This article will especially examine these latter expressions, studying their functions and the discursive repertoires that they adopt and they reproduce in a reflexive manner. In this sense, humour and positive thinking will be considered as major analytical keys for the comprehension of the grammar of these textual forms. Specifically, thanks to the analysis patterns utilised in previous researches, the narrative styles of some Italian cancer blogs, that became quite popular in the media, will be analysed.
