The zeta potential of the HPC-based solution was found to decrease from -1.31 to - 3.24 (mV) with the addition of CDH-emulsified CDH, according to Zetasizer analysis. Additionally, the roughness of the surface properties showed an increasing trend. AFM analysis indicated that the surface roughness of the HPC film increased by 1.31 and 4.01 nm in terms of arithmetical mean deviation from the mean (Ra) and root mean square deviation from the mean (Rq), respectively, with the addition of CDH-emulsified CDH. Changes in the surface properties of the biofilm could affect its barrier properties, such as water resistance and light transmission.

The aim of this review is to discuss the culture of lepet considering its ethnic perspective, preparation and consumption, nutritional and functional properties, safety, and future outlook aspects. Lepet, a traditional Javanese dish, consists of sticky rice, grated young coconut, coconut milk, cowpea, and salt. It is wrapped in young coconut leaves with a specific pattern, boiled, soaked, and then hung to cool and dry. The persuasive technique employed by Sunan Kalijaga, which combines Javanese cultural traditions and Islamic religious teachings, symbolizes lepet for the Javanese people. This method facilitated the spread of Islam by emphasizing the importance of purity and refraining from committing further mistakes after apologizing during the Eid Al-Fitri tradition. Lepet is rich in carbohydrates and some protein. It is gluten-free and offers benefits for bone and skin health due to its con...

To avoid these risks, the edible coating might be one solution. The advantage of starch creates a fence between oxygen, either moisture and the product. The additional antimicrobial can be used in the coatings us calcium propionate in limited quantities. In addition, agarwood bouya essential oil might also have potential as an antifungal agent for fruits. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of yam bean starch, calcium propionate, and essential oil concentrations on the relevant properties of edible films. The effect of treatments analyzed by analysis of variance and significant differences between experimental groups were examined by Tukey HSD. As a result, the viscosity and pH of the solution were found to be in the range of 28.34 to 35.97 cP and 4.79 to 4.97, respectively. As for the film properties, moisture content ranged about 32.27 to 49.80 %; L*, a*, and b* values rang...

The number of losses and waste estimation was done by interview method to the key actors entering the supply chain that started from the farmers in Perbawati village. The interview of losses estimation was conducted to the farmers who planted tomatoes and red chilli, followed by the middleman, while for the waste amount estimation interview was conducted on tomatoes and red chilli sellers in the wet market and the customers. The results of the interviews on the actors involved along the supply chain stated that tomato products at the farmer level had estimated losses of 11.17%, 10% losses at middlemen level, while the estimated amount of waste at the seller level was 20.63% and at the customer level was 11.36% with total estimation of 53.16% in along of tomatoes supply chain. Unlike red chilli which had total loss estimation of 29.32% with details of losses estimation at farmer level of 2.33%, 5% losses at middleman level, while waste estimation at seller level was 10.80%, and customer level was 11.18%. Different percentages of food losses and waste estimation between tomatoes and red chilli caused by different of treatments, natural characteristic of products, handling by the actors, seasons and different economic value of the product.

Method: The flow cytometry dyeing and the Western blot method are adopted to detect the expression conditions of CXCR4 in HeLa cells; the MTT method is adopted to detect the influence of SDF-1 and corresponding receptor CXCR4 on proliferation of HeLa cells; the Boyden chamber method is adopted to detect the influence of SDF-1 and corresponding receptor CXCR4 on infiltration and metastasis of HeLa cells. Results: There is high expression on receptor CXCR4, the receptor of SDF-1; after the SDF-1 stimulation, the proliferation ability of HeLa cells is significantly increased (P<0.05), and this effect is dose-dependent; after the knock-down of CXCR4 expression on surface of HeLa cells with RNAi, the proliferation of HeLa cells caused by SDF-1 stimulation is significantly interdicted (P<0.05). SDF-1 may give rise to infiltration and metastasis of HeLa cells. After the knock-down of CXCR4 expression on surface of HeLa cells with RNAi, the infiltration and metastasis of HeLa cells are significantly interdicted (P<0.05). Conclusion: The CXCR4 with high expression on surface of HeLa cells plays a significant role in inducing proliferation, infiltration and metastasis of HeLa cells.
