Leon L . Lauresh

Leonid Lauresh. Engineer, researcher of the history of Belarus, Grodno largest local historian from Lida, author of nine scientific and popular-scientific books and over 200 articles on the history of Belarus and Grodno region. Member of the Union of Belarusian writers (from 2017). Creator and administrator of historic site pawet.net, which resources are already two decades serve for historical science and is popular among scholars. Participant of many scientific historical conferences and round tables. He cooperates with historians of Grodno State University by Yanka Kupala and is invited to participate in their research projects.
L. Lauresh reconstructed many previously unknown facts and stories of the history of Grodno region. He became first in Belarus who engaged in local history of the Uniate (Greek Catholic) church. He writes his works on rich factual material and solid base of sources. History researches of L. Lauresh are making significant contribution to the expansion of knowledge about the history of Lida region and its place and importance in European historical context.
