Even though its management already has the so ware which solves the vehicle routing problem by Mayer and Branch and Bound methods, it is still favourable to implement more approximation methods. The basic reason is that the Branch and Bound algorithm is complicated and so ware overfl ows may occur during its run in case of more cities in the cycle. The aim of this paper is to solve the real transportations using other methods that satisfy basic requirements of practicability. Transportation, which the brewery carried out during the selected week, provided data which were then analyzed using both the modifi cations of "classical" approximation methods (such as by Clark and Wright, Habr, and Mayer). Three types of the combination of these methods were also applied. The computed results were compared with the routes actually used by the brewery and with results from already implemented so ware. They showed that the brewery can save approximately 50,000 CZK (2,000 EUR) per year. Furthermore, the application of these methods needs neither any special technical equipment nor much time for the computation.
Aggregate production function, especially in its Cobb-Douglas and more general CES form, is still... more Aggregate production function, especially in its Cobb-Douglas and more general CES form, is still very popular among economists. However there is a huge and long-standing critique regarding the function. The core of the criticism which prevailed until these days is that not only the Cobb-Douglas but also CES aggregate production functions are nothing more than income identity in disguise. Such fact would have serious implications for contemporary macroeconomics-both theory and practice. In this paper we estimated Cobb-Douglas and CES production functions in traditional way. Then we used capital and labour services instead of capital stock and labour. We came to conclusion that to get statistically sound results when elasticities equal factor shares, it is necessary to use the latter approach to deal with the factor´s utilization. However doing so revealed that such modified estimate is really only an estimate of income identity in disguise as predicted by the critique.

First there is shown the relevance of using the fuzzy CPM in agriculture and the related branches and present the basics of the methods used. Th en, there are described the imperfections of the work which is discussed and the impacts of the previously-published approach when applied in project management practice are emphasised. In the original paper, the author uses only the discrete fuzzy numbers for activity time durations which could be considered inappropriate for the time scheduling in project management. Consecutively, the direct application of the extension principle on the comparison of continuous durations could lead to the situation when both numbers can be greater than the second one with possibility equal to one. Moreover, the simple transformation of durations to the costs by linear equations with a positive slope does not respect the current project management theory and practice. Finally, the missing comparison of project fuzzy costs among individual variants of the project is calculated.

In order to perform such analysis, the official model of perpetual inventory method is transformed into the Markov chain model and applied on regional data separately. Regional net fixed capital stock is presented for the period of 2008-2013. The development of the average age of machinery and equipment comprises a potential indicator of the modernisation process in the industry. The analysis of the age structure is based on the structure heterogeneity indicator. For these purposes, the real age structure in each Czech region is compared with the theoretical stable and stationary structure. Currently, the most heterogeneous age structure of machinery and equipment occurs in Prague and the Karlovy Vary region.

In particular, we concentrated on a linear programming module and measured the impact on student performance. The motivation for this evaluation is based on a current development of a new module that focuses on Traveling Salesman Problem. First, we explain the current situation both worldwide and in the Czech Republic and the CULS Prague. Subsequently, we describe the content of students' exams and statistical methods applied to the evaluation. Finally, we analyze and generalize the obtained results. The students exams have show a positive impact of the modules. Further, our analysis has proven that this impact is statistically significant. The findings motivate us to made new modules for other methods.

Current effort is to focus on implementation of system dynamics into existing courses of Mathematical Methods in Economics. The objective of the paper is to design and test flexible seminars' structure of system dynamics at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague during the lessons and seminars on the courses of Mathematical Methods in Economics. The results are necessary for successful introduction of system dynamics courses at CULS Prague. First part of the paper describes the role of system dynamics in education and the registered benefits from its implementation into education at different schools and universities. Second part contains the sources that constitute the basis for the seminars' structure design. The proposed structure is tested in third part through the questionnaire and the opinions of students.

However, the question is how much more tourism capacity can Mexico offer? Therefore, it is necessary to search areas with lower hospitality performance to secure tourism growth and create adequate decision-making strategies. In this article, we constructed Data Envelopment Analysis model to estimate the hospitality efficiency of 32 Mexican states during a period from 1992 to 2018. Such a long period creates a unique insight of Mexican tourism. The results revealed high efficiency regarding national tourism, whereas the efficiency is low with respect to international tourism. This may not be unconnected with the fact that international tourism is centered in coastal states, whereas national tourism is mainly located in the inland states. Such differences create opportunities to target better marketing strategies from the Mexican government.

It contains a comparison with several different basic methods of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM). The analysis focuses on a mathematical algorithm of the established MCDM method and does not consider validity of any selected socioeconomic criteria and their weights. Both the strengths and weaknesses of the used MCDM method are presented. The paper includes a simple proposal of the modification of the examined method that will prevent incorrect data normalisation used for region's evaluation before revision in 2010. Data used for all calculations were obtained from the Ministry for Regional Development.

In system dynamics’ modelling terminology the retirement and depreciation of the fixed capital are some kinds of delay. We compare the common structures for the production capacity depreciation with the fixed capital indicators and show the interconnections and interpretation. We analyse the data from building approvals to quantify the construction delay as common part of investment behaviour. For these purposes we interconnected two databases. This connection allowed us to find the parameters for the non-residential buildings from two points of view – the industry and type of construction.

In the Czech Republic, cattle farming is stagnating and farmers have to search for additional and alternative sources of income. Diversification strategies often mean that farmers have to find new uses for existing resources (farm buildings, equipment, labor), stepping into the meat processing sector and farm-to-table system or into agritourism. In this paper, we simulate the scenarios representing the potential benefit of diversification into agritourism. The paper adopts the system dynamics approach to model three different sized farms, calibrated with official data. In addition, a management flight simulator is used in an applied case study. In both cases, we evaluate the impact of the agritourism on the economic performance of the farm. In the case study, we also test the scenarios of the impact of coronavirus lockdown. The pessimistic scenarios grow from the realistic conditions when the parameters reflect the recent period settings.
