ABSTRACT The reaction with chloral of 2-[1-(3-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy]-5,6-benzo-1,3,... more ABSTRACT The reaction with chloral of 2-[1-(3-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy]-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan-4-one containing a chiral fluorinated exocyclic substituent on phosphorus leads to formation of 2-[1-(3-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy]-3-(trichloromethyl)-6,7-benzo-1,4,2λ5-dioxaphosphepin-5-one 2-oxide with a high regio- and stereoselectivity. The molecular and supramolecular structure of the isolated diastereomer was established by means of X-ray diffraction.

ABSTRACT [3+2]-Cycloaddition of N,N-dimethylhydrazone benzaldehyde (I) to 2-RFO-4-oxo-5,6-benzo-l... more ABSTRACT [3+2]-Cycloaddition of N,N-dimethylhydrazone benzaldehyde (I) to 2-RFO-4-oxo-5,6-benzo-l,3,2-dioxaphosphorinanes (II) yields the new heterocycle - 2-RFO-4-Me2N-2,5-dioxo-3-phenyl-6,7-benzo- 1,4,2-dioxaphosphepine (III) [RF = C6F5, CH(CF3)2) with high stereoselectivity (above 94%). The reaction is likely to involve the initial interaction of nitrogen as a nucleophile with wbonyl carbon as an electrophile. The hydrolysis of (III) leads to phosphonic acid (IV) (ORF = OH).

Benzaldehyde N,N-dimethylhydrazone with 4-oxo-2-pentafluorophenoxy-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphori... more Benzaldehyde N,N-dimethylhydrazone with 4-oxo-2-pentafluorophenoxy-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinane is capable to yield with high stereoselectivity a product of the phosphorus heterocycle expansion: unstable to hydrolysis 4-dimethylamino-2,5-dioxo-2-pentafluorophenoxy-3-phenyldihydro-6,7-benzo-1,4,2-oxazaphosphepine. The configuration of the prevailing isomer of the latter was determined by X-ray diffraction study.

ABSTRACT Reaction with hexafluoroacetone of 2-fluoroalkoxy-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxophosphorinan-5-on... more ABSTRACT Reaction with hexafluoroacetone of 2-fluoroalkoxy-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxophosphorinan-5-ones containing a chiral fluorinated exocyclic substituent on the phosphorus atom, with hexafluoroacetone leads to formation of 4,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)-6,7-benzo-1,4,2-dioxaphosphepines with a high regio- and stereoselectivity. The configuration of all isolated individual diastereomers was established by X-ray diffraction. The molecular and supramolecular structure of the compounds were examined in terms of the proposed model that takes account of the revealed effect of separation of hydrophilic and lipophilic regions in the crystal.

ABSTRACT 2-R-benzo[e][1,3,2]dioxaphosphinin-4-ones react with perfluorodiacetyl under mild condit... more ABSTRACT 2-R-benzo[e][1,3,2]dioxaphosphinin-4-ones react with perfluorodiacetyl under mild conditions to form relatively labile spirophosphoranes containing a 1,3,2-dioxaphosphole ring. These compounds gradually convert to more stable 2-R-4,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)-1,3,2λ5-dioxaphosphole 2-oxides and diastereometic 2-R-4-(trifluoroacetyl)-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzo[f][1,3,2λ5]dioxaphosphepine 2-oxides, whose structure was confirmed by means of NMR and IR spectroscopy. The structure of 4′,5′ -bis(trifluoromethyl)-4-oxo-2-(2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropoxy)-2λ 5-spiro[benzo[e][1,3,2]dioxaphosphinine-2,2′-[1,3,2]dioxaphosphole] was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis.

ABSTRACT Hexafluoroacetone imine easily interacts with compounds (I, R = OMe, OCH2CF2CHF2, NEt2, ... more ABSTRACT Hexafluoroacetone imine easily interacts with compounds (I, R = OMe, OCH2CF2CHF2, NEt2, Ph) in two directions unlike hexafluoroacttone and gives 1,4,2-oxazaphosphepines (II) (pathway I) or 1,3,2-oxszaphosphepines (III) (pathway 2). The compound (II) (R = NEt2) lightly hydrolyzes to yield the salt (IV). The structure of heterocycles II-IV) has been confirmed by X-ray analysis (see fig. I, II, R = OMe; fig. 2, IV). The detail structural peculiarities of the compounds am discussed.

ABSTRACT Phosphorus (111) containing dcrivatives of salicylic acid easily react with carbonyl com... more ABSTRACT Phosphorus (111) containing dcrivatives of salicylic acid easily react with carbonyl compounds with formation of cycloexpansion products - 1,3,2- or 1,4,2-dioxaphosphepines. For the first time we have shown that dialkyl-l-oxólkylphosphonates react with 2-R-4-oxo-5,5-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinanes and yield 1,3,2-dioxaphosphepines (I) with high stereoselectivity. The configuration of the preferable diastereoisomer (IId) has been determined by X-ray analysis. The hydrolysis of compounds (IIa-c) leads to formation of 2-hydroxy-2-oxo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphepines (III). The structure of phosphepine (IIIb) in crystal is shown on the figure.
