This research paper examines the impact on teacher perceptions when a different approach to decid... more This research paper examines the impact on teacher perceptions when a different approach to deciding teacher salaries was introduced to improve transparency and trust, communication and teacher professionalism. The new salary scale aimed to focus the teacher’s attention on some key professional skills and qualities considered necessary to transform the school into an outstanding school in Asia in four years. Adopting a case study methodology, this research examined teacher perceptions concerning the new salary scale. The study generated transferable findings that could be used to inform school leaders who are tasked with transforming schools in a diversified faculty environment.
