With the help of the conservation of resources theory, the researchers were guided to understand how students manage their social media usage in order to sustain their resources at hand. There were both 30 participants from the senior high school level and the college level. The three questions used to guide the study were the following: 1) What is the level of valuing social media of senior high school students? 2) What is the level of valuing social media of college students? 3) Is there a significant difference in the social media usage of those belonging to senior high school and those belonging to college?
As interpreted from the answers of the respondents, senior high school students use social media more for nonserious matters compared to college students who utilize social media for serious purposes. The findings of this study may help students, parents, and schools to come up with plans that would help in balancing their social media usage between serious and nonserious purposes.
