The prominent Reformist theologian, Jurgen Jeremias stated that there is Holy Spirit activity in the logos. The best treatise on expression theology is the Johannine prologue (John 1:1-18).

Expression Theology is based on the Johannine Prologue and on Holy Scripture in its entirety, fro... more Expression Theology is based on the Johannine Prologue and on Holy Scripture in its entirety, from the time that YHWH said (expressing Himself), "Let there be light" up to the trumpet theme and the reference to peals of thunder in Revelation and everything in between. The great translator, JB Phillips, translated John 1:1 as follows: At the beginning God expressed Himself. The Pauline corpus formulates the dynamic nature of the Logos. It is clear that the Reformation stripped Holy Spirit dynamics from the Logos. Their Logos centrality is, however, very close to the wavelengths of Expression Theology but not radical (pure) enough.
