This article presents a solution to deal with the optimization of delivery routes problem for a m... more This article presents a solution to deal with the optimization of delivery routes problem for a mobile application focused on the restaurant sector, by using a bioinspired algorithm (PSO) to minimize delivery costs, maximize a greater number of deliveries and recommend an optional route for food delivery. Different computational experiments are carried out by using Google Maps (API) for showing the best delivery route. The results obtained are very promising for offering a good delivery service.

In this work, we examine the combined problem of optimal portfolio selection rules for an insurer... more In this work, we examine the combined problem of optimal portfolio selection rules for an insurer in a continuous-time model where the surplus of an insurance company is modelled as a compound Poisson process. The company can invest its surplus in a risk free asset and in a risky asset, governed by the Black-Scholes equation. According to utility theory, in a financial market where investors are facing uncertainty, an investor is not concerned with wealth maximization per se but with utility maximization. It is therefore possible to introduce an increasing and concave utility function φ(x, t) representing the expected utility of a risk averse investor (insurance company). Therefore, the goal of this work is not anymore to maximize the expected portfolio value or minimize the ruin probability or maximizing the expectation of the present value of all dividends paid to the shareholders up to the ruin, but to maximize the expected utility stemming from the wealth during the life contract [0, T ]. In this direction, using the Dynamic Programming Principle of the problem, we obtain the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation by our optimization problem (HJB). Finally, we present numerical solutions in some cases, obtaining as optimal strategy the well known Merton's strategy.

En el ámbito de vehículos eléctricos la información que se deriva del consumo energético de la fu... more En el ámbito de vehículos eléctricos la información que se deriva del consumo energético de la fuente de polarización permite proponer mejoras y conocer los límites de su desempeño. En este documento, se presenta el desarrollo de un watthorímetro que se diseñó para conocer el consumo que demanda un vehículo eléctrico a su batería. Se discute los sensores empleados para medir las variables eléctricas de corriente y voltaje, así como sus etapas de acondicionamiento. El instrumento se apoya en un microcontrolador en donde se realiza la adquisición y el procesamiento de las señales, así como el despliegue de la información a través de una pantalla de cristal líquido. Se explica el algoritmo empleado para el procesamiento y se presenta su código principal. Por último, se describe el procedimiento para la validación del prototipo, en donde se compara contra un instrumento comercial y se presentan los resultados obtenidos. A partir de esta información, se concluyó una mejora clara con respecto al medidor comercial, el cual presentó un error del 1.8% en comparación con el prototipo desarrollado.

La informacion que se ofrece considera la electronica de potencia, la instrumentacion y el control con base en un microcontrolador de 8 bits. En el documento se da una breve explicacion del funcionamiento general del motor y se presenta la estructura general del controlador, en donde se exponen los puntos relevantes de la electronica de potencia y las consideraciones que se tomaron en cuenta para la eleccion de sus componentes. Se describe el algoritmo que ajusta el ciclo de trabajo y controla el voltaje promedio que se aplica al motor para evitar condiciones adversas de sobretension y sobre corriente. STAT3 and STAT5B (STAT3/STAT5B) mutations are the most common mutations in T-cell large granular ... more STAT3 and STAT5B (STAT3/STAT5B) mutations are the most common mutations in T-cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia (T-LGLL) and chronic lymphoproliferative disorders of NK cells (CLPD-NK), but their clinical impact remains unknown. We investigated the frequency and type of STAT3/STAT5B mutations in FACS-sorted populations of expanded T/NK-LGL from 100 (82 clonal; 6 oligoclonal; 12 polyclonal) patients, and its relationship with disease features. Seventeen non-LGL T-CLPD patients and 628 age-matched healthy donors were analyzed as controls. STAT3 (n = 30) and STAT5B (n = 1) mutations were detected in 28/82 clonal T/NK-LGLL patients (34%), while absent (0/18, 0%) among oligoclonal/polyclonal LGL-lymphocytosis. Mutations were found across all diagnostic subgroups: TCD8+-LGLL, 36%; CLPD-NK, 38%; TCD4+-LGLL, 7%; Tαβ+DP-LGLL, 100%; Tαβ+DN-LGLL, 50%; Tγδ+-LGLL, 44%. Often, their population density experience markedly fluctuations that promote a state shift in the ecosystems they inhabit. Population increments of some sea urchins may cause catastrophic changes in temperate areas of the planet by decimating the erect macroalgae cover. These population increments results in unproductive and very stable assemblages, known as “blanquizales” (ericeras/moradales), or sea urchin barren ground. Macroalgae are the main ecosystem engineers in temperate areas and generate a suitable nursery and feeding habitat for fishes. These algae stands are also important zones for biofiltration of coastal waters and CO2 uptake. The main consequence of vegetated biomass lost is a trophic disequilibrium that generates important economic losses for artisanal fisheries and tourism. Numerous peer-reviewed publications have used some of these data but some data have appeared only in graduate theses or the gray literature. There also are data that have never appeared outside original data sheets. Motivation for studies has included fisheries management and environmental monitoring of sewer and power plant outfalls as well as changes associated with disease epidemics. Studies also have focused on kelp restoration, community effects of sea otters, basic sea urchin biology, and monitoring. En el Derecho europeo de la competencia cada vez es más frecuente acudir a estudios econométricos... more En el Derecho europeo de la competencia cada vez es más frecuente acudir a estudios econométricos para fundamentar las decisiones adoptadas por las autoridades comunitarias. Sin embargo, en este ámbito aun está por construir una doctrina sólida sobre los criterios para dotar de fiabilidad las conclusiones que se extraen de dichos análisis. Tampoco existe un criterio claro respecto al papel que deben jugar los tribunales comunitarios en la revisión de valoraciones económicas extraídas de estos análisis empíricos. En este trabajo nos aproximamos a esta problemática y apuntamos algunos criterios partiendo de la jurisprudencia comunitaria y norteamericana, así como de los lineamientos publicados por la Comisión Europea. Para ello, en primer lugar nos centramos en la utilización y método de las técnicas econométricas así como en algunos de los problemas que plantean desde la perspectiva del Derecho. A pronounced, widespread and persistent regime shift among marine ecosystems is observable on tem... more A pronounced, widespread and persistent regime shift among marine ecosystems is observable on temperate rocky reefs as a result of sea urchin overgrazing. Here, we empirically define regime-shift dynamics for this grazing system which transitions between productive macroalgal beds and impoverished urchin barrens. Catastrophic in nature, urchin overgrazing in a well-studied Australian system demonstrates a discontinuous regime shift, which is of particular management concern as recovery of desirable macroalgal beds requires reducing grazers to well below the initial threshold of overgrazing. Generality of this regime-shift dynamic is explored across 13 rocky reef systems (spanning 11 different regions from both hemispheres) by compiling available survey data (totalling 10 901 quadrats surveyed in situ ) plus experimental regime-shift responses (observed during a total of 57 in situ manipulations).
