Quality of Service based packet scheduling is a key-feature of LTE-A mandating selection and tran... more Quality of Service based packet scheduling is a key-feature of LTE-A mandating selection and transmission of individual user packets based on their priority. HARQ Aware Scheduling, Retransmission Aware Proportional Fair, Chase Combining Based Max C/I Scheduling and Maximum-Largest Weighted First (M-LWDF) are popular Packet Scheduling Algorithms (PSAs) developed to meet QoS requirements. In highly erroneous LTE-A cannel, M-LWDF is considered to be one of best PSA. To validate the performance of M-LWDF for the LTE-A channel, Mean User Throughout, and Fairness performance measures were evaluated for 3 different PSAs designed based on M-LWDF algorithm in this paper. A C++ based simulation results indicate the superiority of the PSA3 algorithm within the threshold of the performance measures against benchmarks. It has shown more efficiency and the performance of RTA traffic was enhanced. Results show that PSA3 is superior to its benchmark PSA2 by 12% in Mean User Throughput and 11% in Fairness. PSA2 performed the worst because it prioritizes new users and it allocated all available RBs to the scheduled user leaving the rest to wait in the buffer. PSA3 maintians good Mean User Throughput and fairnessdue to scheduling each user on its RB which leads to multiuser diversity.

This paper aims to develop a real-time integrated system for the detection of the blood vein util... more This paper aims to develop a real-time integrated system for the detection of the blood vein utilizing an Android Mobile App. The system is intended to be a low cost solution for medical teams at clinics, emergency rooms and hosptials. The system reduces the enjuries incurred due to inaccuracies during the process of frequent needle injection when blood vein is not visible during patient’s skin inspection. Illuminated infrared light in the blood cells of the vein is absorbed due to the manifestation of the Haemoglobin in blood and the IR non-blocking camera can capture the vein patterns in the IR light spectrum. Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) algorithm was used to enhance the pattern of the vein in the Android application developed using OpenCV3. This is where Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) fulfills this requirement. With this ever evolving technology the need for improvements is required. Packet scheduling is one of the important key features of LTE-A, where it dictates user selection and transmission of those user's packets based on the priority of the users to reach the receiver correctly. Packet scheduling is one mean to achieve those QoS requirements that real-time applications require. Such algorithms are HARQ Aware Scheduling Algorithm (HAS), Retransmission Aware Proportional Fair Algorithm (RAPF), Chase Combining Based Max C/I Scheduling and Maximum-Largest WeightedDealy First algorithm (M-LWDF). In this paper, M-LWDF is one of the best algorithms in LTE-A which was chosen for further investigated to support QoS in high mobility environment. Packet Loss Ratio (PLR), and Mean User Throughput performance measures were used to validate the performance of M-LWDF algorithm against other algorithms using similar mobile environment. Simulation results indicate the capability of M-LWDF algorithm within the threshold of the performance measures against other benchmarks where it has demonstrated more efficiency to support and improve the performance of real-time multimedia traffic.

It is used to identify and track of an entity in a significant way. This paper illustrates the way to detect multiple objects using background subtraction methods and extract each object features by using Speed-Up Robust Feature algorithm and track the features through k-Nearest Neighbor processing from different surveillance videos sequentially. In the detection of object of each frame, pixel difference is calculated with respect to the reference background frame for the detection of an object which is only suitable for any ideal static condition with the consideration of lights from the environment. Thus, this method will detect the complete object and the extracted feature will be carried out for the tracking of the object in the multiple videos by one by one video. It is expected that this proposed method can commendably abolish the impact of the changing of lights.

A numerous fault occurs at the time of needle infusion into the blood vessel which is covered inside the human skin even though it is a simple and common practice in medical practitioning. This research proposes a computer-aided new technique using the vision-based imaging and Contrast Limited Adative Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) to detect and visualize the vein beneath a human's skin from video sequences which will be a really cost effective solution. IR night vision camera is being used to acquire the videos of an arm to compute the effect electromagnetic effect from NIR illumination which is absorbed by the hemoglobin of the blood vessel tissues. More precisely, its application can lead the process not only for error-free infusion of a needle to the patients but also localization of abdominal bleeding, stroke-inducing clots in the vein are the name of few.

Studies were conducted on catch assessment of some artisanal marine fishing gears operated in Cox... more Studies were conducted on catch assessment of some artisanal marine fishing gears operated in Cox's Bazar and Teknaf areas from April 2014 to April 2015. Sixteen types of fishing gears were identified, of which gill net, beach seine net, estuarine set bag net, marine set bag net and trammel net occupy major fishing activities. Although estuarine set bag net (ESBN) is a legally restricted fishing gear recorded the highest catch per unit effort (CPUE) (110 kg/gear/day) in July followed by marine set bag net (MSBN) (105 kg/gear/day) in Cox's Bazar and the highest CPUE was recorded 100 kg/gear/day by ESBN in June followed by MSBN (90 kg/gear/day) in Teknaf. Out of 52 species of fishes, the major fish species abundantly caught by these gears were Poa (Otolithoides argenteus), Churi (Trichiurus haumela), Loittya (Harpadon nehereus), Ranga choukha (Lutjanus johni), Lal poa (Johnius argentatus), Olua (Coilia dussumieri), Rup chanda (Stromateus chinensis), (Stromateus argenteus) and Ilish (Tenualosa ilisha). Besides these fish species, 10 commercially important shrimp species and 3 important crab species were also recorded during the study period. The peak season of availability of most fish species was June and July while lean season was December and January. This study indicated that Otolithoides argenteus) was the dominant fish species followed by Trichiurus haumela, Harpadon nehereus and Coilia dussumieri.

Sumithion Intestine Zebra fish Histology Pesticide Organophosphorous pesticide sumithion, the O, ... more Sumithion Intestine Zebra fish Histology Pesticide Organophosphorous pesticide sumithion, the O, O Dimethyl O-(3-methyl-4-nitrophenyl), is a widely used pesticide in agricultural land and in aquaculture to control some harmful pests. A study was conducted in laboratory condition with aquaria (36 inch × 10 inch × 12 inch) to evaluate the effects of sumithion on histo-architecture of intestine in zebrafish (Danio rerio). The experiment was carried out with three treatments (T1: 0.5 ppm, T2: 1.0 ppm, T3: 2.0 ppm) and a control (T0: 0ppm), each having three replications. Zebra fishes (Danio rerio) (4±1cm and 0.9±0.2g) were stocked for the experiment and sacrificed after 7 days of exposure of sumithion. During the study period, the temperature was almost constant (21-22 O C) but dissolved oxygen, pH and total alkalinity values were tended to decrease with the increase in concentrations of test chemicals. The histo-architectural changes in intestine suggested that the intestinal epithelial cells, lumen, villi and intestinal folding were varied significantly (P<0.05) in treatment groups rather than the control groups (T0). Disappeared mucosa (DM) along with abnormal lumen (AL) were found in case of T1, while destructed intestinal villi (DV), sloughing of superficial epidermal cells (SEC) and uneven intestinal folding (UF) were found in T2 and T3. The obtained result supports the toxic potentiality of sumithion. Therefore, the use of sumithion must be evaluated carefully in agriculture and aquaculture.

Socioeconomic Fishermen Fishing Teknaf Study was conducted on the socioeconomic conditions of the... more Socioeconomic Fishermen Fishing Teknaf Study was conducted on the socioeconomic conditions of the fishermen in Teknaf to evaluate fishermen livelihood and social status for a period of one year from March, 2014 to April, 2015. Data were collected in terms of income generation, age distribution, housing, literacy rate, health and sanitation facilities of the fishermen. Fishing was regarded as the major source of income of the traditional fishermen but occasionally they undertook a variety of non-fishery related activities, which constituted a substantial part of their annual income. Among 105 fishermen interviewed, 59.25% were below 30 years, 29.62% were between 30 and 39 years, and the remaining 11.11% were more than 40 years old, and their literacy level was 62.96% illiterate, 18.51% can write their names, 14.81% had received education up to primary level and 3.70% had received secondary education. Income distribution showed significant inequality between marginal and non-marginal fishermen from group fishing. The national and local NGO like BRAC, ASA provided credit only to the organized poor members to purchase fishing gears and boats but the amount of credit provided by the NGOs was insufficient and could not commensurate to the poor people's actual need. The present study revealed that sanitary conditions of the fishermen were very poor that 25% fishermen have semi-constructed and 10% of the fishermen had no sanitary facilities. Most of the fishermen (65%) have un-constructed sanitary facilities. The present study suggested that there is a clear need to legalize fishing profession and their settlement as well as traditional fishing communities should be given priority in getting necessary supports from all concerns.

Since partition of British India in 1947, the city has been growing up as an important complex of trade, commerce and industries. This paper aims to relate the historical transformation of the morphology of the concern city by analyzing the spatial expansion. History reveals that the city arose as a market town on the bank of river Bhairab. At the very beginning of the paper, the Integration core has been tried to identify by analyzing the Master Plan of 1961. After identifying the initial urban core, the Master plan of 1993 & 2009 has been analyzed respectively by using Space Syntax, tool that simulates the likely social effects of urban designs, which has been done with axial analysis. It has been observed that the main Integration Core was initiated by the side of the river bank area as the river transports were the main catalysts for the City. Then with the time it shifted to the Dak-Bangla more/node, and now it has been found that the main vibrant nodal point is the Shib-Bari node.

The effects of extremely low-frequency (ELF) pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) emitted by the c... more The effects of extremely low-frequency (ELF) pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) emitted by the custom-build exposure chamber on the growth and survival of the bacterium Escherichia coli (E. coli ATCC 25922) have been studied. The viability of E. coli was measured as colony-forming units (CFUs) before and after the exposures at frequencies, f, 2-500 Hz and magnetic flux densities, B, 2.5-5 mT to quantify the effects of applied ELF PEMF on these bacteria. The maximum reduction in bacterial growth was observed with the exposures at 3 Hz and 0.5 mT. The maximum decrease in CFU was recorded for the exposure at 500 Hz and 2.5 mT, which corresponds to a relative decrease of 77.26% in the bacterial growth. Findings from this study have direct implication for determining the optimal characteristics of the applied ELF PEMF for possible treatment of infected tissue and thus, wound healing promotion.

Here we report attempts to repeat these experiments, which have been proposed as a model for assessing the effects of EMPs on biological systems. Susceptibility to EMFs was tested using five strains of diatoms on agar plates at a very broad range of field conditions, but no effect on population motility was demonstrated. Exposure period to the EMFs, cell density, and position in the cell cycle had no effect on EMF susceptibility, and the direction and distance moved by the diatoms were not affected by EMFs. When tested after at least a month of preincubation at 20 pT, diatoms of strains #203X, ITIs, and I III; did show an EMF-induced increase in population motility over control cells (up to-20%) at conditions predicted by the "ion cyclotron resonance" model, but this effect was ephemeral. Later, RIB showed a similar increase that was abolished when (1) non-pre-incubated cells were used, (2) the EMF-producing coils were not energized, and (3) even harmonics were used. On observing the response of diatoms to EMFs in real time, a significant increase (-a-fold) in diatom speed over control cells was evident at "ion cyclotron resonance" conditions, using strain #203X (pre-incubated at 20 PT). The effect was abolished at an even harmonic. We conclude that EMFs can modulate diatom motility, but that the system is, as yet, not consistently reproducible.

Sumithion Intestine Zebra fish Histology Pesticide Organophosphorous pesticide sumithion, the O, ... more Sumithion Intestine Zebra fish Histology Pesticide Organophosphorous pesticide sumithion, the O, O Dimethyl O-(3-methyl-4-nitrophenyl), is a widely used pesticide in agricultural land and in aquaculture to control some harmful pests. A study was conducted in laboratory condition with aquaria (36 inch × 10 inch × 12 inch) to evaluate the effects of sumithion on histo-architecture of intestine in zebrafish (Danio rerio). The experiment was carried out with three treatments (T1: 0.5 ppm, T2: 1.0 ppm, T3: 2.0 ppm) and a control (T0: 0ppm), each having three replications. Zebra fishes (Danio rerio) (4±1cm and 0.9±0.2g) were stocked for the experiment and sacrificed after 7 days of exposure of sumithion. During the study period, the temperature was almost constant (21-22 O C) but dissolved oxygen, pH and total alkalinity values were tended to decrease with the increase in concentrations of test chemicals. The histo-architectural changes in intestine suggested that the intestinal epithelial cells, lumen, villi and intestinal folding were varied significantly (P<0.05) in treatment groups rather than the control groups (T0). Disappeared mucosa (DM) along with abnormal lumen (AL) were found in case of T1, while destructed intestinal villi (DV), sloughing of superficial epidermal cells (SEC) and uneven intestinal folding (UF) were found in T2 and T3. The obtained result supports the toxic potentiality of sumithion. Therefore, the use of sumithion must be evaluated carefully in agriculture and aquaculture.

Socioeconomic Fishermen Fishing Teknaf Study was conducted on the socioeconomic conditions of the... more Socioeconomic Fishermen Fishing Teknaf Study was conducted on the socioeconomic conditions of the fishermen in Teknaf to evaluate fishermen livelihood and social status for a period of one year from March, 2014 to April, 2015. Data were collected in terms of income generation, age distribution, housing, literacy rate, health and sanitation facilities of the fishermen. Fishing was regarded as the major source of income of the traditional fishermen but occasionally they undertook a variety of non-fishery related activities, which constituted a substantial part of their annual income. Among 105 fishermen interviewed, 59.25% were below 30 years, 29.62% were between 30 and 39 years, and the remaining 11.11% were more than 40 years old, and their literacy level was 62.96% illiterate, 18.51% can write their names, 14.81% had received education up to primary level and 3.70% had received secondary education. Income distribution showed significant inequality between marginal and non-marginal fishermen from group fishing. The national and local NGO like BRAC, ASA provided credit only to the organized poor members to purchase fishing gears and boats but the amount of credit provided by the NGOs was insufficient and could not commensurate to the poor people's actual need. The present study revealed that sanitary conditions of the fishermen were very poor that 25% fishermen have semi-constructed and 10% of the fishermen had no sanitary facilities. Most of the fishermen (65%) have un-constructed sanitary facilities. The present study suggested that there is a clear need to legalize fishing profession and their settlement as well as traditional fishing communities should be given priority in getting necessary supports from all concerns.

Since partition of British India in 1947, the city has been growing up as an important complex of trade, commerce and industries. This paper aims to relate the historical transformation of the morphology of the concern city by analyzing the spatial expansion. History reveals that the city arose as a market town on the bank of river Bhairab. At the very beginning of the paper, the Integration core has been tried to identify by analyzing the Master Plan of 1961. After identifying the initial urban core, the Master plan of 1993 & 2009 has been analyzed respectively by using Space Syntax, tool that simulates the likely social effects of urban designs, which has been done with axial analysis. It has been observed that the main Integration Core was initiated by the side of the river bank area as the river transports were the main catalysts for the City. Then with the time it shifted to the Dak-Bangla more/node, and now it has been found that the main vibrant nodal point is the Shib-Bari node.

The effects of extremely low-frequency (ELF) pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) emitted by the c... more The effects of extremely low-frequency (ELF) pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) emitted by the custom-build exposure chamber on the growth and survival of the bacterium Escherichia coli (E. coli ATCC 25922) have been studied. The viability of E. coli was measured as colony-forming units (CFUs) before and after the exposures at frequencies, f, 2-500 Hz and magnetic flux densities, B, 2.5-5 mT to quantify the effects of applied ELF PEMF on these bacteria. The maximum reduction in bacterial growth was observed with the exposures at 3 Hz and 0.5 mT. The maximum decrease in CFU was recorded for the exposure at 500 Hz and 2.5 mT, which corresponds to a relative decrease of 77.26% in the bacterial growth. Findings from this study have direct implication for determining the optimal characteristics of the applied ELF PEMF for possible treatment of infected tissue and thus, wound healing promotion.

Here we report attempts to repeat these experiments, which have been proposed as a model for assessing the effects of EMPs on biological systems. Susceptibility to EMFs was tested using five strains of diatoms on agar plates at a very broad range of field conditions, but no effect on population motility was demonstrated. Exposure period to the EMFs, cell density, and position in the cell cycle had no effect on EMF susceptibility, and the direction and distance moved by the diatoms were not affected by EMFs. When tested after at least a month of preincubation at 20 pT, diatoms of strains #203X, ITIs, and I III; did show an EMF-induced increase in population motility over control cells (up to-20%) at conditions predicted by the "ion cyclotron resonance" model, but this effect was ephemeral. Later, RIB showed a similar increase that was abolished when (1) non-pre-incubated cells were used, (2) the EMF-producing coils were not energized, and (3) even harmonics were used. On observing the response of diatoms to EMFs in real time, a significant increase (-a-fold) in diatom speed over control cells was evident at "ion cyclotron resonance" conditions, using strain #203X (pre-incubated at 20 PT). The effect was abolished at an even harmonic. We conclude that EMFs can modulate diatom motility, but that the system is, as yet, not consistently reproducible.
