Ihab Khalil
Primary research is two-fold:
1) Interest broadly in the legacy of ancient Egyptian thought and belief on:
+ the New Testament,
+ Alexandrian Christian theology,
+ Middle/Neoplatonism, and
+ Gnosticism.
My approach is interdisciplinary, but may be characterized as "intellectual history." That is, I root the ideas and thought in their social, cultural and historical context.
2) Contemporary Coptic culture outside Egypt, and cultural change in relation to host countries. Social power dynamics is a particular focus.
Currently working on my second book - a work of fiction.
