The negative stigma and the life quality degradation in people with leprosy lead to the higher risk of depression than people without this disease. Depression is a period of disruption of human function associated with sadness feeling, included changes in sleep pattern and appetite, psychomotor, concentration, anhedonia, fatigue, feeling hopeless, helpless, and having suicidal thoughts. The risk of depression will increase about 2,6 times in people who have chronic illness, one of which is leprosy. This was an analytic observational study with cross sectional approach using 60 respondents chosen by purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained through interview using Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS) questionnaire and analyzed using Spearman correlation test (p<0,05). The results showed that most respondents (36,7%) suffered from le...

Kata kunci: uji Widal, populasi sehat, Indonesia Enteric fever is endemic in developing countries including Indonesia. Widal test in a single serum sample is commonly used as laboratory diagnosis especially where culture facilities are not available. Examination of the single Widal test in endemic countries such as Indonesia, will give less accurate results with the large number of false-positive or false-negative. One of false-positive results is single Widal interpretation of test in endemic areas where the majority of the healthy population had contact or infected previously, and showed a positive result of Widal test. Widal titre examination in healthy population both men and women have not been investigated in Jember. So the aim of this study was to determine Widal titres among apparently healthy population in Jember University. In this cross-sectional study, blood samples were collected as much as 3 mL from healthy men (n=47) and women (n=47) and were analyzed for the presence of Salmonella antibodies by carrying out the Widal slide agglutination test. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 23 descriptively. The result showed that the most frequent

Scabies has a very contagious nature especially in places with dense population levels like Islamic boarding school. Permethrin which is a drug of choice for scabies has a fairly expensive price so it is less effective when used in mass treatment. In Indonesia, sulfur preparations, especially 10% sulfur soap and 2-4 ointment are easy to obtain because the price is affordable and available at the community health clinic. The purpose of this study is to know the difference in effectiveness of 10% sulfur soap and 2-4 ointment as a single treatment and combination on scabies disease. In this clinical trial study, treatment was performed on 3 groups, 10% sulfur soap group (n=36), 2-4 ointment group (n=36) and combination group (n=36). The examination was done on days 8, 15 and 22.
