The resource allocation in Grid computing system needs to be scalable, reliable and smart. It sho... more The resource allocation in Grid computing system needs to be scalable, reliable and smart. It should also be adaptable to change its allocation mechanism depending upon the environment and user’s requirements. Therefore, a scalable and optimized approach for resource allocation where the system can adapt itself to the changing environment and the fluctuating resources is essentially needed. In this paper, a Teaching Learning based optimization approach for resource allocation in Computational Grids is proposed. The proposed algorithm is found to outperform the existing ones in terms of execution time and cost. The algorithm is simulated using GRIDSIM and the simulation results are presented.

Potential of Grid computing depends on my issues such as security of resources, heterogeneity of resources, fault tolerance & resource discovery and job scheduling. Scheduling is one of the core steps to efficiently exploit the capabilities of heterogeneous distributed computing resources and is an NP-complete problem. To achieve the promising potential of grid computing, an effective and efficient job scheduling algorithm is proposed, which will optimized two important criteria to improve the performance of resources i.e. makespan time & resource utilization. With this, we have classified various tasks scheduling heuristic in grid on the basis of their characteristics.

The dramatic changes in the complexity of scientific applications and part of nonscientific applications increase the need for distributed systems in general and grid computing
specifically. One of the main challenges in grid computing environment is the way of handling the jobs (tasks) in the grid environment. Job scheduling is the activity to schedule the submitted jobs in the grid environment. There are many approaches in job scheduling in grid computing.
This paper provides an experimental study of different approaches in grid computing job scheduling. The involved approaches in this paper are “4-levels/RMFF” and our previously published approach “XLevels/XD-Binary Tree”. First of all, introduction to grid computing and job scheduling techniques is provided. Then the description of currently existing approaches will be presented. After that, experiments and provided results give a practical evaluation of these approaches from different perspectives. Conclusion of the comparative study states that overall average tasks waiting time is enhanced by
approximately 30% by using the X-levels/XD-binary tree approach against 4-levels/RMFF approach.

step, we automatically detect moving logos using the saliency map and the scale invariant feature transform.
In the logo tracking and extraction step, an improved mean shift tracking method and backward tracking
technique are used in which only logo regions are extracted by using color information. Finally, in the logo
removal step, the detected logo region is filled with the region of neighborhood using an exemplar-based
inpainting that can fill a large detected region without artifacts. These steps are effectively interconnected
using control flags. Experimental results with various test sequences show that the proposed algorithm is
effective to detect, track, and remove moving logos in video.
