A well-planned transportation system is extremely beneficial in terms of efficiency and environmental friendliness. To that end, parking charging was one of the transportation management topics covered in this study. A parking charging system is one in which a user can leave their vehicle at a particular place and pay a price based on the amount of time it was left unattended. Given the rising use of private vehicles, which has resulted in an increase in congestion and air pollution, it is believed that a parking fee system can be implemented to alleviate the situation. The primary purpose of this research is to develop a transportation model based on the parking price factor in Ringgit Malaysia (RM). At the completion of the study, a transportation model based on parking rates will be developed, and it is projected that once implemented, the percentage of private vehicles that use public transportation will increase. This model is deemed necessary in order to mitigate the harmful effect of an excessive number of private vehicles at UMS. The State Preference Survey (SPS) method was used. A questionnaire form was developed and distributed online to 300 respondents among the students of the Faculty of Engineering at UMS, in order to collect the required data. The data collected was then analyzed using linear regression to develop several transportation logistic models. The transportation models that have been developed in the form of a logistic model that can reflect the willingness of UMS students to shift from private vehicles to public transport. These models predict that when the parking price increases, the percentage shift of private vehicles to public transport will increase linearly. It is also found that 100% of drivers are willing to shift from private vehicles to public transport if the parking price per hour is RM 4.00. Shifting private vehicle users to public transportation may assist lower the number of private vehicles on the road and thus indirectly help mitigate the negative consequences of an excess of private automobiles.

Due to the increased number of vehicles, shopping centers and rapid growth population of Al-Manso... more Due to the increased number of vehicles, shopping centers and rapid growth population of Al-Mansour city, daily trips have been increasing besides generating traffic congestion in major roundabouts in the city. Those will make developing an imperial delay model in roundabouts important due to the traffic and geometric influences. Therefore, two major roundabouts have been selected in the city to be taken as a case study. Geometric features for the selected roundabouts have been measured accurately by satellite images via ArcGIS. Traffic and geometric data analysis indicate that both are significantly important on delay models. The delay time produced by SIDRA and SYNCHRO has been compared with the delay time measured from the field. A significant difference in delay for roundabouts is noticed. This difference could be attributed to the difference in driver behaviour. Ideal saturation flow is the main factor related to driver behaviour, so it adjusted to be the average of the saturation flow measured from the field (2200 vphgpl).

On the other hand, it represents a direct cost in terms of fuel consumption/wastage on road networks during idleness and inactivity. Extreme delay at signalized intersections reflects the incompetence in the signal timing because of consecutive signalized intersections on the particular site. The traffic parameters performance is not a feasible method or practice. Furthermore, one of the significant ways to improve the performance of the network is by coordinating traffic signal in intersections. This study was done to highlight the ability of improving the level of service (LOS) of four intersections; two of them with four legs and two with three legs as well as two roundabouts in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya using SIDRA software version 4.0. In addition, the study aims to compare the results between each peak hour in terms of percentage of change in the variables and t...

R... more Road traffic accidents (RTA) constituted a severe public problem in all countries of the world. Roughly about 1.5 million people around the world die in traffic-related accidents. Its absolute impact is exacerbated by the fact that RTA have become the leading cause of death, especially among young adults who constitute the most economically productive age groups of the larger society. Road traffic accidents also prove to be an issue of economic and social. More than 70% of the injuries and victims of accidents were in low and middle-income countries. The integral role of knowledge and practice of road safety measures necessitate further emphasis in the RTA prevention. The present study seeks to evaluate the road safety measures' knowledge among car drivers in Tripoli-Libya. A total of 389 drivers had taken in this study. A questionnaire was used to gather some relevant information from the participants. The data collected was run in analysis using SPSS version 19. From the 389 drivers, 310 (79.7%) were male and 79 (20.3%) female. The study results have shown that gender differences in attitudes towards traffic law indicate that there is no significant difference between both sexes. Female had a marginally higher awareness than males with regard to certain substantial issues such as eating, drinking or smoking while driving and using cassette / radio or using the telephone while driving were particularly significant (P-value = 0.04). Explanations and results of the behaviors of the drivers about safety measures on the roads are discussed.
