Di wilayah Kelurahan Jagalan terdapat peninggalan sejarah kerajaan Mataram Islam seperti komplek yang terdiri dari Masjid Gede Mataram, Makam Panembahan Senapati - pendiri Kerajaan Mataram Islam, beberapa Sendang dan perkampungan unik dengan berbagai corak rumah adat jawa peninggalan era Mataram pasca Panembahan Senapati dan era kolonial. TIC (Tourist Information Center) di Kelurahan Jagalan sudah berdiri sejak 2019 dengan tujuan untuk semakin meningkatkan pelayanan informasi kepariwisataan di Kelurahan Jagalan pada khususnya dan Kotagede secara umum. This study discusses the use of English used by pedicab drivers in the Malioboro tourist area as ... more This study discusses the use of English used by pedicab drivers in the Malioboro tourist area as a means of communication with foreign tourists to portray and improve the quality of English-speaking services in the future. By bringing out the element of politeness in communicating, people can further strengthen their social relations, both can respect each other's self-image. Unique informal learning from direct conversations with foreign tourists produces speech variations in English that are unique and different from standard English rules. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with conversational analysis that aims to describe the linguistic phenomena in the English variation of pedicab drivers on aspects of politeness strategies. Pedicab drivers in tourist locations utilize politeness strategies to create communications when face-threatening acts are unavoidable or deliberate in order to preserve the hearer's positive and negative face. In the interactions between pedicab drivers and international tourists, 15 data on positive politeness strategies and 14 data on negative politeness strategies were identified. The data analysis provided is taken from the representative data for each strategy. The dominant sub-strategy from the positive politeness strategy is "Notice, Attend to H (his Interest, Wants, Needs, Goods)," while the dominant sub-strategy from the negative politeness strategy is "Apologize."

The aims of this research were to determine the best of local legume sprout as raw material of me... more The aims of this research were to determine the best of local legume sprout as raw material of meat analog, based on its texture, sensory (preference properties), and the ratio of arginine/lysine, compared to meat analog from soybean. Meat analogs were made of protein of local legumes sprout, which were velvet beans, cowpeas, and winged beans that had been germinated for 48, 36 and 24 hr respectively. The protein of velvet beans, cowpeas, and winged beans sprout for meat analog production were extracted at pH 9 and precipitated at pH 4, 5, and 5 respectively. Hence their products were analyzed the texture, the sensory properties (the hedonic scales of color, texture, odor, taste, and overall), and the ratio of arginine/lysine. The students were expected to be more confident in speaking English, enriching their vocabulary and developing their idea. Therefore, this study was directed to (1) implement the benefits of digital storytelling media related to the seventh graders' speaking activities at home and school (2) explore how digital storytelling could be an effective tool for learning and supporting students' speaking skill. The data were collected from SMPN 1 Seyegan through observation, interview, questioner, and tests. The researcher gave the material using digital storytelling media, then the students described what they had got from the story. The information about these three things is very useful for language teachers to prepare and implement effective language learning. This study was conducted to describe the students ' learning style and language learning strategy and to know the similarities/differences from the two elements of Java, Papua, Flores, Dayak, and Batak ethnics. A number of 175 participants were involved in the study. Research data were obtained through the Fleming's learning VARK questionnaire and a language learning strategy questionnaire from Oxford. The results of the two questionnaires were analyzed to determine the type of learning style and language learning strategy. There are two problems that became the basis questions: (1) how is Juana characterized? (2) how is feminism revealed in Juana? To obtain the answers to the two questions above, a library study was carried out. It is done by studying the information and sources which were picked from referential books and studies of Steinbeck’s work. Sociocultural approach is applied to analyze the story, since the problems have close relationship with people and their ideas of feminism. Social, cultural, and historical background is the factors that people’s characteristics and build the ideas of feminism. Based on the result of analysis of the story, there are four points that can be concluded. First, the study on The Pearl has shown that Juana represents woman’s struggles in the family.
