This study developed a model of Daily Horizontal Solar Radiation (DHSR) for Mubi, Adamawa State, Nigeria. The present study data were obtained from National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in year 2017. The sought data were air temperature and Relative Humidity which were used as the input parameters and DHSR used as output. Mathematical Model of DHSR of the study area was generated through the Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) analysis that was done in the Microsoft World Excel. Results of the research were validated using statistical tools of Mean Square Error and Correlation Coefficient given 1.61 and 0.95 respectively. Consequently, it was concluded that MLR Model can be considered as a substitute for evaluating the Actual DHSR for weather condit...

The country is populous and potentially one of the well-endowed nations. Based on the 2006 Population and Housing Census report, it population is put over 144 million (NPC 2006). It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse nations. It comprises ethnic nationalities put between 250 to 450 groups (Idahosa, 1997). It also, examines the difficulties encountered in the implementation process.Layne and Lee (2001) “Stages of growth theory” was adopted to explain the position of Nigeria in the implementation and the challenges it faced on e-government.To do this, this paper used secondary data as a source to collect different articles and report. This paper finds that while e-government is present in Nigeria, it is still in its initial stage. Not only have that, the environment lacked many prerequisites for the survival and continued maintenance of e-governance due to many factors such as inadequate electricity, technical expertise etcetera. It is therefore suggested that both the government and the stakeholders should take it up as a challenge to find quick and lasting solutions to them. There must also be political will and government should have its administrative staff retrained in IT to properly mana...

Of increasing interest to scholars and practitioners of early education, interactions are an important aspect of process quality that can give us insights into how and why learning is supported or hindered in the early years. In the broad sense, this book is concerned with understanding how we might recognise educational environments that foster learning and support pedagogical practices based upon quality human relationships and interactions between children, people and things in early childhood education. We are interested in exploring: what is it in relationships between children, families and professionals that sustain learning and development in early years? How are interaction partners affording each other opportunities for learning or working together to advance learning? How can educators in the early years take insights from interaction research into practice...

A total number of 558 serum samples were collected from sheep form five localities. The collected samples were first screened for presence of anti-brucella antibodies by Rose Bengal Plate test (RBPT). In a second step, samples that were RBPT positive besides to some randomly selected RBPT negative (n = 144) were subjected to indirect enzyme linked Immunosorbent assay (i-ELISA). Overall, a percentage of 7.4% (n = 41) of the serum samples showed RBPT positive results, of which the i-ELISA confirmed the positivity of 25 (4.5%) samples. The other 10 i-ELISA positive samples were RBPT negative. It can be concluded that brucellosis is prevalent in sheep in El-Gadarif. Adopting of an all-year-round surveillance system to enable early detection of Brucella infections is highly recommended as it will assist in controlling and managing the disease.

Material and methods: A total of 400 serum samples comprising of 200 sheep and 200 goats were collected and tested by Toxo-latex agglutination test and indirect enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (iELISA). Results: The overall sero-prevalence was 52.0% (n=208/400) using Toxo-latex agglutination test and 45.7%(n=42/92) and 27.2%(n=25/92) using iELISA in sheep and goats, respectively. Furthermore, the sero-prevalences among the two investigated species and the two age groups were statistically similar but were different between localities, breeds and sexes. In the univariate analysis, species (P=0.028) and locality (P=0.001) were associated with Toxo-latex agglutination test positive status. Additionally, species (sheep) and locality (Al-Fao, Al-Hawatah, and West El-Gadarif) had increased odds of being Toxo-latex agglutination test positive in the multivariate analysis. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the prevalence of anti-toxopalsma antibodies is relatively high and there was no between-species variation in seropositivity. These findings warrant further investigations to estimate the burden of the disease and the likelihood of zoonotic transmission.

Future industrial location trends are examined in the light of past and present development. The commitment to non-industrialisation in Sudan during i the colonial regime has had a pronounced impact on the postindependence spatial distribution of industry. Thus investment policies and development in the pre-independence period are investigated. with reference to the set objectives and prevailing opportunities in Chapter Two. Private capital investment was insignificant compared with the public sector which was undertaking 'commercial plantation' and infrastru.ctural capital outlay. However, business and trade was the domain •of private entrepreneurship. Public and private sectors were nonetheless co~lementary to each other and their activities were co~ordinated in what is termed the 'charter government system'. StYQctural transformation ~nd economic growth• (Chapter Three) is seen as a manifestation of this coordination and partnership. Planned non-industrialisation, 'growth thro~gh trade', and primary export base are all attributed to the development endeavour of this period. An industri:~l location theory specific to developing countries is. . expounded in the Prime Base theory (Chapter Four). Localization of industry according to this theory seems inevitable in many other prime bases of developing countries. In the second part, Sudan's industrial activity is i•nvestigated within the context of contemporary urban and regional development. In Chapter Five the spatial organisation of the industrial activity in the Prime Base is analysed in so.:ne detail, and the regional distribution and pattern of industry in Sudan is examined in Chapter Six. The emergence of secondary bases is seen as part of the economic process, and co:1ld be developed to realise industrial region ali sation. Chapter Seven is a case study of cotton-seed oil to test existing localization as against the 'theoretical optim~m' according to classical location theory. Chapter Eight analyses human and natural resources in relation to regional development and future prospects for industrial location •. So.:ne suggestions are offered, and policy issues are raised in the concluding remarks.

A total of 195 patients (63% men, average age 64 years) with >10 pack-year smoking histories and stable, moderate-tosevere chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; forced expiratory volume in 1 second [FEV1] 1.02 liter, 38.8% predicted) from eight university-affiliated chest clinics in seven U.S. cities were enrolled into the study. Asthma, rhinitis, and eosinophilia were exclusions, as was daily use of >10 mg of prednisone (or 20 mg on alternate days). There was a 2-week stabilization period during which the patients were instructed in the use of the small volume nebulizers, which they used three times daily with albuterol alone. They were asked to keep daily logs of peak flow rates, pulmonary symptoms, and additional medication usage. On their test day 1 the subjects came to the pulmonary function laboratory having been off theophylline for 24 hours and flzagonists for 12 hours and performed a baseline spirometry. They then received their
