In the Philippines, he was widely considered a National hero for his heroic act and contributions during the Spanish colonial rule but does he really deserve to be called a national hero? Rizal was just any other normal person who had a secret and unwanted story to tell. He was intimidating and a complex type of man. People say that he was intellectually curious as he pursued multiple academic programs such as medicine, literature, and poetry, I guess, these help him acknowledge and see the real problems of Filipinos. His experience awakened him to see why the Philippines were tyrannized. Did Rizal do something to help them or did he stay quiet and watch how the Spaniards oppressed his fellowmen?
