Their feature is the ability to display parallelism, asynchrony and hierarchy. First was described by Karl Petri in 1962 [1,2,8]. The Petri net is a bipartite oriented graph consisting of two types of vertices - positions and transitions connected by arcs between each other; vertices of the same type cannot be directly connected. Positions can be placed by tags (markers) that can move around the network. [2] Petri Nets (PN) used for modelling real systems is sometimes referred to as Condition/Events nets. Places identify the conditions of the parts of the system (working, idling, queuing, and failing), and transitions describe the passage from one state to another (end of a task, failure, repair...). An event occurs (a transition fire) when all the conditions are satisfied (input places are marked) and give concession to the event. The occurrence of the event entirely or partially modifies the status of ...

The archaeologically obtained material includes anthropological findings, among which odontological (related to human teeth) are of interest as they are composed of resistible tissues (hence are preserved well) and can serve for biological as well as historical interpretations. However, among the methods employed in odontological studies some are destructive and bring to unwelcome irreversible changes or even complete loss of the analysed samples. However, the existing and rapidly-developing techniques, especially, referring to 3D imaging and prototyping, suggest different approaches which can facilitate avoiding undesirable consequences of invasive methods of research. Thus they can provide for either preservation of findings through development and application of non-invasive study techniques, or, at least, preserve data referring the findings which have to be destroyed in order to receive valuable, in terms of research, information. It is shown on the example of the studied mandibular fragment from the Early Bronze archaeological site of Shengavit how multidisciplinary cooperation and the described workflow contribute to preservation of information regarding the finding and possible restoration of its original features. An effective communication between different professionals was provided due to implementing non-contact measurements techniques, obtaining and processing 3D images and 3D printing.

Traditional odontometry currently suggests a limited number of measurements on tooth coronal part... more Traditional odontometry currently suggests a limited number of measurements on tooth coronal parts, including estimation of mesio-distal and vestibular-oral diameters, or dimension, through usually a single measurement of the maximal parameter. Taking into consideration the complexity, irregularity and variability of tooth shapes we find such measurements insufficient for interpreting tooth morphology. Thus we propose odontotomic approach of obtaining data from a series of parallel equally spaced sections in combination with automated detection of landmarks used for measurements. These sections allow locating maximal dimensions of teeth as well as collecting data from all parts of the tooth to describe it morphologically. Referring odontometric data to the whole tooth we obtain more precise and objective records which have proved to be informative in a series of dental and anthropological studies. Growing interest and implementing of digital technology in odontometric studies calls ...

Colored Petri Nets combine the strengths of Classical Petri Nets with the power of a high-level programming language. Coloured Petri Nets have both, formal intuitive and graphical presentations. Graphical CPN model consists of a set of interacting modules which include a network of places, transitions and arcs. Mathematical representation has a well-defined syntax and semantics, as well as defines system behavioural properties. One of the best known features used in biometric is the human finger print pattern. During the last decade other human features have become of interest, such as iris-based or face recognition. The objective of this paper is to introduce the fundamental concepts of Petri Nets in relation to tooth shape analysis. Biometric iden...

The author constructed the graph of Colored Petri Net, which generates L * Context-free language. This language may not be modeled using standard Petri Nets [1]. The Venn graph and diagram that the author modified [1], show the interrelation between languages of Colored Petri Nets and some Traditional languages. Thus the class of languages of Colored Petri Nets is supposed to include an entire class of Context-free languages.

The work explains the modeling features of the synchronization function with Colored Petri Net. There is a detailed description of Patil proposal on synchronization issue of cigarette smokers with Colored Petri Net (Fig. 2.), which shows due to what exact properties of expansion occurred (guarding types to positions and tokens, guarding logical expressions to transitions and arcs, importing of high-level special properties, special for programming languages) and how to manage the process of resolving such problems through modern mechanisms of modeling. The described model below illustrates the most im...

The visitors of the Yerevan American Corner are not an exception. Thus, a necessity of a detailed analysis of the visitors’ demands and behavior arises, in order to amend or expand the realm of the service, to raise the popularity of the corner and to attract more visitors. With this purpose, we offer to conduct polls and interviews among users of the American Corner, to do a specific social analysis of programs and services. Overall, 550 people will take part in the survey. The analyses will help to understand the attitude of patrons, non-patrons and random visitors towards the Yerevan American Corner (its space, resources, activities, projects, services, technical devices, and staff). This will also help to evaluate the effectiveness of current activities and services, such as clubs, courses, public talks and various meetings. ...

There is detailed description of appropriate access in Petri nets and reachable tree mechanism construction. There is an algorithm that describes the minimum sequence of possible transitions. The algorithm developed by us finds the shortest possible sequence for the network promotion state, which transfers the mentioned network state to the coverage state. The corresponding theorem is proven, which states that due to the describing algorithm, the number of transitions in the covering state is minimal. This chapter studies the interrelation of languages of colored Petri nets and traditional formal languages. The Venn diagram, modified by the author, is presented, which shows the relationship between the languages of the colored Petri nets and some traditional languages. As a result, it is shown that the language class of colored Petri nets includes an entire class of context-free languages and some other classes. The results obtained show that it is not possible to model the Patil problem using the well-known semaphores P and V or classical Petri nets, so the mentioned systems have limited properties.
