The lack of knowledge of a confrontation like the one Yugoslavia lived a few years ago shows the difficulties we have as individuals and societies to empower our history as a result of the redefinition and reconstruction of memory. We know many global processes that do not depart from our own realities and are even ignorant of what happens around us. The memory then, as a category of social sciences, can unearth the forgotten stories of those who have suffered a war, the traces it ends up leaving for future generations, and the constant reflection that should be in the academy and of course in humanity. The memory can not only relive history but also draw useful insights to build more objective of the present and future visions.
