Terzago maintained that meteorites are of lunar origin (1). Since then the idea has been repeatedly taken up by scientists, until lunar samples were found to be different from all known types of meteorites. However, it new appears that the old hypothesis was justified, at least with respect to the dynamical problem of transferring material from the Moon to the Earth. The results of our chemical analysis (instrumental neutron activation techniques, Table 1) of Antarctic meteorite ALHA 81005 undoubtedly show that it is a lunar highland breccia, confirming the original suspicion by Mason (2). 1,) Contents of ttl and Fe are in the range of lunar highland rocks (Fig, 1), Fe/Sc, Mg/Cr and Sc/V ratios are identical to the ratios in highland rocks. The latter three ratios are characteristic For highland rocks with a meteoritic component. 11 Pristine" rocks have different ratios. 2.) The chemical composition of ALHA 81005 fits into the nulti-element lunar highland mixing disgran of Wanke et al. (J) (fig. 2). J.) The major element composition of ALHA 81005 is very similar to that of a group of lunar highland rocks, called feldspathic granulitic impactites (fGI) by Warner et al. (4). The composition of these FGI-rocks (e. 9. 78155) and chemically related materials with about 25% Al 2 0 3 (e. g. anorthositic gabbros (5)) comes very close to the proposed composition of the average lunar highlands (Table 2, (6)). 4.) Like fGI-rocl<s, ALHA 81005 has no KREEP-type pattern of incompatible elements. It has e. g. a flat heavy REE pattern (fig. 3). Incompatible elements are in general less fractionated than those in KREEP (Table <j). The absolute content of incompatible elements is lower than in FGI-rooks. 5.) ALHA 81005 has, similar to fGl-rocks, a significant meteoritic component with an essentially chondritic pattern of siderophiles (1.5% C1-equivalent) (fig. 4, Table!). 6.) The abundances of "plagioclase trace elements" Sr, Eu, Na, Ga are similar to those of the most primitive cateclastic anorthosites, early crystallisation products of the lunar magma ocean. The composition of the mafic component of ALHA 81005 (assuming it is representative for a major crustal unit) may also be relatively primitive. Its mg-number (0.73) is similar to that for Ringwood's parental lunar crust magma (0.70), which represents the composition 9f the magma ocean, when plagioclese saturation is reached (6). A v o l a t i l e poor reduced component A and a l a t e r v o l a t i l e r i c h oxidized component B are added t o the accreti n g planet i n appropriate r a t i o s t o account fo r the elemental abundances i n the t e r r e s t r i a l mantle. During accret ion o f component A s iderophi les inc lud ing some f r a c t i o n o f Mn, C r , V, and S i are extracted i n t o the growing core, p a r t l y i n form o f sulphides. In November 1994 an individual meteorite, Hammadah al Hamra 073 (HH073), with a total mass of 569 g was collected in the Libyan part of the Sahara. Based on oxygen isotopic composition, mineral chemistry, and petrology HH073 has been classified as an equilibrated carbonaceous chondrite of petrologic type 4 [1] with affinities to Coolidge and Loongana 001 [2,3]. The bulk chemistry gives further evidence that HH073 is the third member of the recently proposed Coolidge-type chondrite grouplet [4].

ABSTRACT Evolutionslehre und Urknalltheorie werden heute nicht mehr als direkter Angriff auf den ... more ABSTRACT Evolutionslehre und Urknalltheorie werden heute nicht mehr als direkter Angriff auf den christlichen Schöpfungsglauben verstanden. Umgekehrt lassen sich von den jüngeren naturwissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen sogar neue Einsichten zur Religiosität des Menschen gewinnen. Welches sind die kosmischen Bedingungen für den homo religiosus? Nach einem von der NASA gerade vorgelegten Resultat von Messungen des Satelliten WMAP ist das Weltall 13,7 Milliar-den Jahre alt. Spektakulär daran sind vor allem der neue Weg, auf dem dieses Resultat gewonnen wurde und die dabei erzielte Bestätigung unseres heute auf Urknall, Naturgesetzen und Evolution basierenden Weltbilds. Grundlage hierfür bildet die kosmische Mikrowellenstrahlung, die 1965 bei der Untersuchung von Störgeräuschen eines neuen Radioempfangssystems entdeckt und sehr bald mit dem vorhergesagten Nachglühen des Urknalls identifiziert wurde. Als deren erste genaue Vermessung mit dem Satelliten COBE Anfang der neunziger Jahre zunächst keine räumlichen Struk-turen erkennen ließ, aus denen sich die heutige Materialverteilung des Kosmos hätte entwickeln können, kamen zwar noch einmal Zweifel über deren Interpretation auf. Wenn die heute 40-fach feineren Messungen neben der Auflösung sol-cher Strukturen zusätzlich eine neue unabhängige Altersbestimmung des Kosmos ermöglichen, und das Resultat sogar weitgehend verträglich ist mit der am anderen Ende der dyna-mischen Entwicklung gemessenen Hubble-Konstante, wird dadurch die mit der Hintergrundstrahlung verbundene Bestätigung des Urknallmodells noch einmal verstärkt. Das anthropische Prinzip der modernen Physik Gerade diese langen Zeitskalen, in denen sich allein auf der Basis der Naturgesetze der heutige Kosmos entwickelt haben soll, waren für den biblischen Schöpfungsglauben eine ernsthafte Probe. Auch wenn durch die moderne Exegese frühere Widersprüche entschärft wurden, bleibt bei vielen Gläubigen eine Distanzierung zu heutigen naturwissenschaftlichen Weltmodellen und Skepsis gegenüber den darin verwendeten Methoden. Richtig ist, dass die Naturwissenschaften kaum geeignet sind, Glaubensinhalte zu untersuchen. Sie können aber sehr erfolgreich die körperlichen Organe erforschen, mit denen diese Inhalte wahrgenommen werden. Die Fähigkeit des Menschen zu glauben und seinen Glauben zum Ausgangspunkt seines Handelns zu machen, basiert vor allem auf seinem Gehirn. Eine auch für den Schöpfungsglauben wichtige Frage ist daher, wie und unter welchen Voraussetzungen die für religiöses Erkennen und Handeln unabdingbare Leistungsfähigkeit des Gehirns entstehen konnte. Der klassische Schöpfungsglauben nimmt Gehirne nicht als evolutiv entwickelt, sondern als direkt vom Schöpfer geschenkte Werkzeuge an. Schöpfung erfuhr der Mensch vor allem dadurch, dass die ihn umgebende Welt ihn zum Leben befähigt. Das Auffinden geeigneter Nahrung und die Erfüllung der Lebensbedürfnisse in Umwelt (Licht, Wärme, Luft) und Lebensumfeld (Eltern, Freunde) war nur durch einen liebenden Schöpfer erklärbar. Die Schöpfungserzählungen waren Bilder dafür, wie Gott Mangel beseitigt hat, und beschrieben damit dessen Macht, Liebe und ordnenden Fähigkeiten. Symbol und sichtbares Zeichen für göttliche Ordnung waren die Abläufe am Himmel, die mit Tag und Nacht sowie den Jahreszeiten ebenfalls als für den Menschen gemacht, empfunden wurden (vgl. Bernhard Lovell, Das unendliche Weltall. Geschichte der Kosmologie, München 1983). Um sich nicht selbst zu gefährden, war es Aufgabe des Menschen, sich dieser Ordnung anzupassen. In November 1994 an individual meteorite, Hammadah al Hamra 073 (HH073), with a total mass of 569 g was collected in the Libyan part of the Sahara. Based on oxygen isotopic composition, mineral chemistry, and petrology HH073 has been classified as an equilibrated carbonaceous chondrite of petrologic type 4 [1] with affinities to Coolidge and Loongana 001 [2,3]. The bulk chemistry gives further evidence that HH073 is the third member of the recently proposed Coolidge-type chondrite grouplet [4].

ABSTRACT Evolutionslehre und Urknalltheorie werden heute nicht mehr als direkter Angriff auf den ... more ABSTRACT Evolutionslehre und Urknalltheorie werden heute nicht mehr als direkter Angriff auf den christlichen Schöpfungsglauben verstanden. Umgekehrt lassen sich von den jüngeren naturwissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen sogar neue Einsichten zur Religiosität des Menschen gewinnen. Welches sind die kosmischen Bedingungen für den homo religiosus? Nach einem von der NASA gerade vorgelegten Resultat von Messungen des Satelliten WMAP ist das Weltall 13,7 Milliar-den Jahre alt. Spektakulär daran sind vor allem der neue Weg, auf dem dieses Resultat gewonnen wurde und die dabei erzielte Bestätigung unseres heute auf Urknall, Naturgesetzen und Evolution basierenden Weltbilds. Grundlage hierfür bildet die kosmische Mikrowellenstrahlung, die 1965 bei der Untersuchung von Störgeräuschen eines neuen Radioempfangssystems entdeckt und sehr bald mit dem vorhergesagten Nachglühen des Urknalls identifiziert wurde. Als deren erste genaue Vermessung mit dem Satelliten COBE Anfang der neunziger Jahre zunächst keine räumlichen Struk-turen erkennen ließ, aus denen sich die heutige Materialverteilung des Kosmos hätte entwickeln können, kamen zwar noch einmal Zweifel über deren Interpretation auf. Wenn die heute 40-fach feineren Messungen neben der Auflösung sol-cher Strukturen zusätzlich eine neue unabhängige Altersbestimmung des Kosmos ermöglichen, und das Resultat sogar weitgehend verträglich ist mit der am anderen Ende der dyna-mischen Entwicklung gemessenen Hubble-Konstante, wird dadurch die mit der Hintergrundstrahlung verbundene Bestätigung des Urknallmodells noch einmal verstärkt. Das anthropische Prinzip der modernen Physik Gerade diese langen Zeitskalen, in denen sich allein auf der Basis der Naturgesetze der heutige Kosmos entwickelt haben soll, waren für den biblischen Schöpfungsglauben eine ernsthafte Probe. Auch wenn durch die moderne Exegese frühere Widersprüche entschärft wurden, bleibt bei vielen Gläubigen eine Distanzierung zu heutigen naturwissenschaftlichen Weltmodellen und Skepsis gegenüber den darin verwendeten Methoden. Richtig ist, dass die Naturwissenschaften kaum geeignet sind, Glaubensinhalte zu untersuchen. Sie können aber sehr erfolgreich die körperlichen Organe erforschen, mit denen diese Inhalte wahrgenommen werden. Die Fähigkeit des Menschen zu glauben und seinen Glauben zum Ausgangspunkt seines Handelns zu machen, basiert vor allem auf seinem Gehirn. Eine auch für den Schöpfungsglauben wichtige Frage ist daher, wie und unter welchen Voraussetzungen die für religiöses Erkennen und Handeln unabdingbare Leistungsfähigkeit des Gehirns entstehen konnte. Der klassische Schöpfungsglauben nimmt Gehirne nicht als evolutiv entwickelt, sondern als direkt vom Schöpfer geschenkte Werkzeuge an. Schöpfung erfuhr der Mensch vor allem dadurch, dass die ihn umgebende Welt ihn zum Leben befähigt. Das Auffinden geeigneter Nahrung und die Erfüllung der Lebensbedürfnisse in Umwelt (Licht, Wärme, Luft) und Lebensumfeld (Eltern, Freunde) war nur durch einen liebenden Schöpfer erklärbar. Die Schöpfungserzählungen waren Bilder dafür, wie Gott Mangel beseitigt hat, und beschrieben damit dessen Macht, Liebe und ordnenden Fähigkeiten. Symbol und sichtbares Zeichen für göttliche Ordnung waren die Abläufe am Himmel, die mit Tag und Nacht sowie den Jahreszeiten ebenfalls als für den Menschen gemacht, empfunden wurden (vgl. Bernhard Lovell, Das unendliche Weltall. Geschichte der Kosmologie, München 1983). Um sich nicht selbst zu gefährden, war es Aufgabe des Menschen, sich dieser Ordnung anzupassen. Die auf den Menschen ausgerichtete Schöpfung (klassisches anthropisches Prinzip) war entscheidende religiöse Grunderfahrung aller
