In this context, human mobility between different EU countries becomes a strategic goal. In this paper, we will discuss about student mobility from different points of view (geographical, social and cultural) and propose solutions to improve student mobility in the field of computer science. Some preliminary results about concrete case studies concerning French-German double degree programs at the ISFATES-DFHI institute are presented.

We present recent surveys about alumni of transnational degrees. The surveys have been conducted ... more We present recent surveys about alumni of transnational degrees. The surveys have been conducted within two French-German university structures, ISFATES-DFHI and UFA-DFH, that organise regularly surveys about the future of their alumni. We compare the results of Computer Science alumni with that for alumni of other fields, in particular Mechanical Engineering, and conclude that transnational diplomas are a clear added-value on the job market, especially for Computer Science alumni. Finally, we discuss about how to develop similar European programs at Bachelor and Master levels.

Pour cela nous avons developpe un outil qui permet a un etudiant non seulement d'acceder aux supports numeriques proposes par l'enseignant, mais aussi d'evaluer sa comprehension des differentes parties du cours lui permettant de faire le point sur ce qu'il sait, sur ses lacunes et sur ce qu'il lui reste a faire. L'enseignant quant a lui peut connaitre a tout moment les parties de son cours qui ont ete bien comprises et sur celles qui posent des problemes. The purpose of this article is to provide an update on the ergonomics of voting machines currentl... more The purpose of this article is to provide an update on the ergonomics of voting machines currently being used in the world. In fact, these technologies are an obstacle for certain vulnerable populations: the elderly, people with disabilities, people who are illiterate and more generally those who are socially and culturally excluded. As a first step we take stock of the usability problems of different voting systems. Then we describe the ergonomic assessment that we have carried out on one of the voting machines currently being used in France. It concerns assessing the compliance with the guidelines and user tests carried out on people who are blind and who are aging. This study shows that the lack of usability of the voting machines is an important factor of discrimination and we offer some ideas to think about.

Ergonomic Principles to Improve the Use of Cognitive Stimulation Systems for the Elderly: A Comparative Study of Two Software Tools

The aim of our communication is to present results of an evaluation of two cognitive stimulation ... more The aim of our communication is to present results of an evaluation of two cognitive stimulation software tools ("ProfessionalTool" and "StudyTool") and to give recommendations to improve their usability. The evaluation was conducted using a test user on a group of 32 seniors (average age 78.19 years) and a group of 15 people (mean age 30.47 years). The "ProfessionalTool" software includes thirty exercises targeting different cognitive skills. The second software-"StudyTool"-has been designed by our team applying user-centered design. The performances of these interfaces were measured using a questionnaire of satisfaction and a heuristic inspection observation grid, based on ergonomic criteria. The scores obtained by each group and each method of data collection were calculated and compared. An important result is that the number of problems encountered by users in the cognitive stimulation tasks is M=10.09 with ProfessionalTool; i.e. a senior user remained stuck for ten minutes on a settings screen. The results of the questionnaire also indicate problems concerning visual ergonomics guidelines, workload, control and error handling, uniformity and consistency, significance and compatibility. This experience highlights the importance of ergonomics in cognitive stimulation software. Their adaptation to a specific public need is often insufficient, especially as the users have troubles with memory and attention. Our study enables us to make a positive contribution of ergonomic human-computer interaction to cognitive stimulation. Beyond the actual effect of cognitive stimulation that is no longer in doubt, the challenge is to support the use and empower the user. This is only possible through tailored interactions.

In the first part of the paper, a definition is presented, along with issues associated with this method and in relation to other practical methods for gathering user requirements. In the second part, we evaluate the effects of personas in helping participants to generate ideas for the development of functions and services that would increase the usability and usefulness of the digital library. Five experts in human computer interactions and usability participated in this study. In the first phase of the experiment, they were invited to freely provide as many features and services as possible in order to increase the quality of the website.
