The performance of power system can be improved by employing distributed generation (DG) in the power system. This paper mainly focussed on DG Placement in Radial Distribution System (RDS). Optimal placements of DG are obtained with respect to real power losses, voltage profile and voltage stability index at every bus. Optimal location of DG placement is found by placing the distributed generation at different location to estimate real power losses and stability index at each location. The location which has minimum power losses and voltage stability index is more suitable DG placement. The load flow analysis algorithm used is Backward Forward Sweep (BFS). Voltage at each bus and real Power Losses are calculated using Load flow analysis. The proposed methodology of BFS is tested on a standard IEEE 33 Bus system.
