Per la comprensione del messaggio simbolico di questa parte del progetto decorativo è essenziale cogliere il collegamento tra i singoli elementi e la concezione sartoriana della vita. Questa analisi consente di ricostruire il processo di maturazione spirituale che conduce Sartorio alla scoperta sincera della fede cristiana.
The sketches and cartoons for the mosaics of the counter-facade of the Cathedral of Messina are the landing points of a complex evolution of the poetic art of Giulio Aristide Sartorio, deeply rooted in the youthful season of symbolism, starting from the great friezes of the Cycle The human Life and of the Parliament. Oggi tale espressione è applicata non sempre in modo appropriato ai contenuti più disparati, a volte paradossalmente distanti dal significato originario. In questo intervento cercheremo di focalizzare il significato originario di locus theologicus, quindi tenteremo di contestualizzarlo nella sensibilità spirituale e teologica contemporanea, per verificare se davvero la creazione artistica possa essere considerata luogo teologico.
