A COMPARISON BETWEEN CLASSICAL AND CONTEMPORARY EPISTEMOLOGY The paper contains a particular historical and philosophical interpretation, the hermeneutic possibility of revising the traditional distinction between the founders of Western thought, Plato and Aristotle, which fits within a general thematic horizon, that of the importance of epistemology for knowing and action. The inspiration for this interpretation is offered by Popper, who thought of science as «open knowledge» useful to the «open societies», thus, by the support of the same Popperian reading of the two classical authors, as well as of a careful analysis of the Platonic and Aristotelian texts centered on the theme of the epistemology, it is possible to reinterpret the traditional way of understanding Plato and Aristotle: the first, paradoxically, would be anti-metaphysical, a friend of partial thinking, of contradiction, of the inexhaustibility of scientific research; the second on the contrary, would turn out to be rigid classifier, intuitionist, deductivist tout court. In this review of 1951, Paul Ricoeur discusses Sartre‟s play, highlighting two possible levels of the work itself: that of the relationship between faith/atheism and that of the ethical/political dimension
Abstract: The short article matched with the translation points out the main features of Ricoeur‟s approach to Sartre‟s work, through a comparison with the analysis about Greek Tragedy and the Book of Job, carried out by the author in The Symbolism of Evil. In this way, the centrality of the concept of „lyricism‟ comes to light: the chief traits of Sartre‟s work could be connected to a non-lyrical approach to the relationship between man and the Absolute. This interesting review makes thus possible to point out what truly marks the difference, according to Ricoeur, between Sartre‟s and his own philosophical approach.

Il progetto di ricerca intende muoversi entro la prospettiva storiografica proposta da Ricoeur, r... more Il progetto di ricerca intende muoversi entro la prospettiva storiografica proposta da Ricoeur, ricostruirne i vari passaggi per poi approfondirne il valore, attraverso la suggestione categoriale dell' estraneità/eternità, laddove il primo termine indica il lato fenomenologico ermeneutico di tale disciplina, privilegiato dall'autore francese, il cui senso è restituito dal lavoro infelice dello storico, inesorabilmente lontano da ciò che può soltanto approssimare epistemologicamente ("Memoria, storia e oblio", 2000). il secondo termine, invece, risponde all'esigenza di superare lo stesso presupposto limitante della fenomenologia, ripensando il concetto della comprensione storica attraverso il supporto della disciplina antropologico-filosofica, fissa, in Ricoeur, sull'alternanza vitale tra bene e male, la cui dialettica, a nostro parere, sta alla base di una certa ricorsività o eternità della storia.

Affidando un'intera carriera accademica ad un compito ben preciso, lo spiegare di più per comprendere meglio, riconosciamo alla base di questo atteggiamento un'attitudine al dialogo interdisciplinare davvero non comune, che ha permesso all'autore francese di allargare gli orizzonti d'interesse e ottenere competenze generalizzate e spiccate sugli argomenti più disparati, confrontandosi con tutto ciò che non è direttamente filosofico: con l'antropologia, lo strutturalismo, con l'analitica e la semiotica del linguaggio, con le teorie della storia e della narrazione, con la scienza psicoanalitica, l'etica, la politica, il diritto e perfino con la religione. In sostanza, egli ha saputo incarnare in sé quella predisposizione riflessiva che pone al vertice della scala del sapere la filosofia, intesa come un misto d'attenzione e affermazione critica, di rispetto verso le autonomie disciplinari, a cui fa da contraltare un certo atteggiamento, che stimola continue domande e nuove prospettive di senso.
