Design and Analysis of a Single Phase 650VA Transformer-Less Inverter System for Solar PV Power Application

In order to achieve low cost, easy control, high efficiency and high reliability. The inverter employs push pull switch mode converter, an H bridge inverter, an automatic changeover dual battery bank and an RF remote control circuit unit. The switching technique of the proposed inverter consists of a combination of sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) and square wave oscillator along with grid synchronization condition. As the suggested method is entirely transformer less, it ridiculously reduces total harmonic distortion (THD) which is less than 0.1%, minimizes size and swells with inverter efficiency up to 98% which can be used in our homes, offices and schools for lightening and charging. Most of the PV systems are designed with transformer for safety purpose with galvanic isolation. However, the transformer is big, heavy and expensive. Also, it reduces the overall frequency of the conversion stage. Generally PV inverter with transformer is having efficiency around 92%–94% only. To overcome these problems, transformer less PV system is introduced. It is smaller, lighter, cheaper and higher in efficiency. A capacitance conversion circuit provides a nearly constant output current which stabilize system rapidly and reduces harmonics generated by inverter. Overall performance of the proposed inverter is simulated through the proteus. The simulation results are analyzed through Protues and Matlab software which produced a pure sinusoidal waveform as the output voltage. A 650VA prototype was designed and construction, tested, simulated and Experimental results are provided to verify the validity and performance of the circuit operations and current control.

In this light, much research was channeled towards the opening and closing of the bin when the presence of human is sensed. However, this ma y be considered less smart since the bin will operate when the presence of human is sensed even though there is no intention to use it. To avert this ill, this paper presents the design and development of a smart waste bin. The objective of this paper is to develop a smart waste bin that detects the presence of man at a particular distance (1 meter for usage so as not to spill the dirt) and obeys voice command to open or close the lid. This is achieved by the use of PIR, ultrasonic module, voice recognition module, Arduino and servo motor. Results gotten after testing the developed system shows that the performance of the waste bin attains a better level of smartness compared to existing waste bin.

At the cradle of technology, line switching was achieved via the use of manual switches or fuses which could endanger life as a result of electrocution when expose during maintenance. This ill prompted the development of automated line switching using relays and contactors. With time, this tends to fail as a result of wearing of the contact which is as a result of arcing and low voltage. To avert all these ills, this paper presents Arduino based Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) line switching using Solid State Relay (SSR). This is to ensure the safety of operators or technologist and to also avert the problem associated with relays and contactors using SSR. This was achieved using RFID RC-522 reader, ardriuno Uno, SSR and other discrete components. The system was tested and worked perfectly reducing the risk of electrocution and elimi...

Towards an Improved Potholes Anomaly Detection Based on Discrete Wavelet Transform and Convolution Neural Network: A Proposal

This anomaly is usually caused by the poor drainage system, asphalt road exceeding their design life span, excessive traffic and atimes the use of poor-quality materials for road construction. Despite efforts by appropriate agencies to rehabilitate the anomalous road networks, the anomalies still persist particularly potholes. Thus, the need to equip vehicles with the capability of sensing and notifying drivers of the presence of this anomaly, towards making the appropriate decision of either slowing down before encountering the anomaly or avoiding it. In this regard, this paper presents the preliminary results obtained towards the development of a robust vision processing based approach for potholes anomaly detection that is independent of the illumination intensity during data acquisition. The proposed approach utilized t...

Often, this topic is taught using teaching aid in the form of diagrams or charts drawn on plane papers. The inanimate nature of these teaching aid employed makes learning less interesting and comprehension difficult. This paper presents the design and construction of a semi animated digestive module with remote control that visualizes the movement and process of food digestion in the body. Basically, the system consists of carved wooden digestive organs with light emitting diodes (LEDs) carefully fixed on the path of digestion. A remote control is also built to aid remote access to the module. These LEDs start to blink indicating swallowing from the mouth down to the anus illustrating the process of digestion which also involves the production of enzymes. A comparison of with the improved teaching aid will make conventional types showed that it aroused student, interest during teaching and learning process. It also reduced too much abstract explanation. Thus making teaching more efficient.

The objective is to have a white marker board that can be adjusted to various height so as to aid maximum use of the board by different teachers of varying heights and to have maximum exposure of what is written on the board to a class with same level seat arrangement. Pro-engineering was used for the CAD drawing of the board and Proteus was used to simulate the circuit designed. Furthermore, this design employs the use of a solid white board, motorized jack, rollers and remote control to aid the vertical adjustment of the height of the Whiteboard. The wood used were seasoned and then cut into the various sizes, component by component. These components were assembled and integrated with the electric jack. Using Kiel vision (software for programming) the code for the remote and the receiver were written and tested. The circuit was then assembled on vero board, using Topwin programmer, the circuit was programmed. After the fabrication, unlike the mechanical solid white board which involves much human effort to push the board through a grooved frame and manually locking it with a bolt by the side for the comfort of the teacher, the Remote control Whiteboard has overcome the manual method of adjustment and aid maximum view in a classroom with same level seat arrangement.
