
Emiel Lamberts
Emiel Lamberts (° 1941), B.A. in Law (1961) and PhD in Modern history at Leuven University (1970). He was assistant professor at the University of Antwerp from 1971 until 1978. He became associate professor in 1973 and full professor in 1980 at KU Leuven. At this university, he has been dean of the Faculty of Arts from 1991 until 1998, president of KADOC- Documentation and Research Centre for the Study of Religion and Society (1985-2006) and director of the Centre for European Studies (1988-1991, 1999-2003). At Leuven University, he has taught European political and religious history (19th-20th centuries).He has published several books on the relations between Church and Society in modern Europe.
