A method of forming a mandatory set of metadata for retro collections of a digital mathematical l... more A method of forming a mandatory set of metadata for retro collections of a digital mathematical library is presented. The open resources of the Semantic Network were used as a source for completing metadata. With the help of the software tools of the metadata factory of the digital mathematical library Lobachevskii-DML, the main processes of text analysis of documents of digital retro collections are performed, in particular, the selection of named entities. Further, through the system of queries in the semantic network, the search and selection of information objects is carried out. After performing automatic filtering and normalization, the obtained information is included in the metadata set. As one of the results, the process of forming a mandatory set of metadata for one of the collections of the digital library Lobachevskii-DML – a retro-collection of articles of the journal "Izvestia of the Physics and Mathematics Society at Kazan University" is presented.

Ontological models and formalisms are discussed. We propose an ontology of mathematical knowledge, covering a wide range of fields of mathematics. We demonstrate applications of this representation in mathematical formula search, and learning.

The solutions of a number of metadata management problems arising in the construction of digital mathematical libraries are presented. The services of the metadata factory of the digital mathematical library Lobachevskii-DML, which are used in the formation of digital retro collections, have been developed. The formed archival mathematical collections are described, the features of the metadata of their documents are indicated.

Digital mathematical libraries are today one of the tools for integrating mathematical knowledge.... more Digital mathematical libraries are today one of the tools for integrating mathematical knowledge. This integration method is based on the use of metadata. Our task was to create methods to programmatically extract the necessary objects from digital mathematical documents, establish semantic relationships between them and generate the necessary sets of metadata. Based on the analysis of the structure of the set of documents under consideration and the stylistic features of their design, an algorithm has been developed for extracting their metadata, creating digital collections and then including them in the corresponding digital library. The algorithm is implemented as a software system and tested on the example of a set of files "Proceedings of the N.I. Lobachevskii Mathematical Center" for 1998-2018. A corresponding digital collection has been created, which is included in the Lobachevskii Digital Mathematical Library (Lobachevskii DML, https://lobachevskii-dml.ru/).

A method for the automation of the scientific peer review workflow in a mathematical journal has ... more A method for the automation of the scientific peer review workflow in a mathematical journal has been developed. For this, a database of experts in various areas of mathematics has been created in the journal's information system. For each expert, using automatic search methods for citation databases, a profile has been generated that includes various classification codes, in particular, Mathematics Subject Classification 2010 (MSC 2010). A system of coefficients has been developed that takes into account the professional interests of experts. Also, indicators of their workload in the review process are taken into account. The first step in forming recommendations for the examination of an article is to determine the scope of the research conducted in it. For this, the codes of mathematical subject classification presented in this article are distinguished. Further, according to these codes, a list of possible experts is formed. The developed method is implemented as plugins of Open Journal Systems (OJS) and tested in the information system of the scientific journal Lobachevskii Journal of Mathematics (https://ljm.kpfu.ru).

An analysis of existing information systems of digital mathematical libraries is performed using the evaluation criteria embedded in the DELOS DLRM model, emphasis is placed to the methods of managing mathematical content on the basis of semantic technologies. All projects are in different degrees of completeness, the range of services provided is different. We found that most of digital mathematical libraries are concentrated on the transfer of the resources to the electronic form and their preservation, rather than on the development of semantic services.

These solutions form the basis of a specialized digital ecosystem OntoMath which consists of the ontology of the logical structure of mathematical documents Mocassin and ontology of mathematical knowledge OntoMathPRO, tools of text analysis, recommender system and other applications to manage mathematical knowledge. The studies are in according to the ideas of creating a distributed system of interconnected repositories of digitized versions of mathematical documents and project to create a World Digital Mathematical Library.

These services are based on ontologies for scientific documents representation, as well as on methods for semantic analysis of mathematical documents. The developed tools automatically check validity of documents for compliance with manuscript guidelines, convert these documents into required formats and generate their metadata.

Based on the analysis of the structure of documents and the stylistic features of their design, we have developed an algorithm for extracting the metadata of these documents.
