Likewise, I will attempt to highlight the dynamics of astronomers' lives in that period, reworking data and perspectives of the time.

Albert Einstein's theory of relativity has been the subject of much debate since it was first pub... more Albert Einstein's theory of relativity has been the subject of much debate since it was first published, given the problems and new perspectives it brought to physics and beyond. Here, however, it is stressed the relations and the analysis by the neo-Kantian philosopher Ernst Cassirer, who, in his discussion, recognizes the merits and defects of Einstein's theory, particularly concerning certain essential aspects such as the concepts of space, time, objects and truth, which will be extensively explored in this short communication through an exploration of the history of philosophy too, delving into these issues by elaborating other peculiar aspects that belong to Cassirer's distinctive thought, together with the historical development and origins of such theory.
Il XVII secolo è stato, in generale, fondamentale per la storia della scienza e per la percezione... more Il XVII secolo è stato, in generale, fondamentale per la storia della scienza e per la percezione che ha l'uomo nei confronti del cosmo, e come spesso accade, quando egli non riesce fisicamente in una certa impresa, come per esempio arrivare sulla luna, inizia ad usare la fantasia generando così nuovi espedienti che possono sfociare in generi letterari tanto innovativi quanto bizzarri, come la proto-fantascienza. In questa prova finale, viene proprio portato a galla questo aspetto peculiare del periodo, coniugando due testi ai poli opposti ma che sotto strati di speculazioni scientifiche condividono molto più di quanto di quanto appaia.
La teoria della relatività di Albert Einstein è stata oggetto di molti dibattiti fin dalla sua pu... more La teoria della relatività di Albert Einstein è stata oggetto di molti dibattiti fin dalla sua pubblicazione, visti i problemi e le nuove prospettive che ha portato alla fisica e non solo. In questa sede, tuttavia, mi soffermerò su un aspetto che è rimasto ancora sullo sfondo, ovvero quello del confronto con il filosofo Ernst Cassirer, di origine neokantiana, che nella sua discussione riconosce i pregi e i difetti della teoria di Einstein, in particolare per quanto riguarda alcuni aspetti essenziali come i concetti di spazio, tempo, oggetto e verità, che verranno ampiamente approfonditi in questa breve comunicazione anche attraverso un'esplorazione della storia della filosofia. La teoria della relatività generale avrebbe il merito, secondo Cassirer, di non pretendere affatto che per ogni essere vivente sia vero ciò che appare ai sensi, ma al contrario di non assumere come verità l'espressione della validità di cui la scienza è "custode", perché i fenomeni naturali stessi valgono solo a partire dal singolo sistema di riferimento che si può considerare in quel momento: nulla di arbitrario o accidentale appartiene più al fenomeno. Tuttavia, approfondirò questi temi elaborando altri aspetti peculiari che appartengono al pensiero distintivo di Cassirer.
